Boston overtakes Stovall as Bucs' starter

David Boston has moved ahead of Maurice Stovall at flanker for Tampa Bay.

Boston has started two straight preseason games and Stovall fumbled inside the red zone last weekend. It seems as though Bucs coach Jon Gruden wants to give both a fair shake. "He's a magician," Gruden said of Stovall. "He disappeared on me for about 10 days. He's showing up again." The only certainty in this race is that Michael Clayton is not a part of it. I think Gruden wants to see what Boston can do against the first team vs the Dolphins.. Just a test maybe?

Clayton sucks.

I second that

Olaf,

You may be right, but don't think it will be here.

Watching the game now (replay) and Boston is looking good. That TD drive sure looked good, hope to see that more this year. Nice how they used Joey and actually had someone else to go to in the end zone.

"He's a magician," Gruden said of Stovall. "He disappeared on me for about 10 days. He's showing up again."

Another completely classless comment by Gruden. I guess Gruden disappeared on US for five years and shows no signs of coming back.

Clayton has to give it up. No not playing football. He has to give everything else up. When Clayton is on that field he has to give everything else up his pride, his body, and his sole. Thats how he played his rookie year. He was in the zone and nothing else mattered to him but what he was doing in that moment ( aka giving it up). Clayton problem there is just to much of himself in his head. Too much of his looks, his image, having laughs, being buddies with his team mates, hanging out, kicken back, talking to the press, and being a star. I say sit his back side on the bench with out him having an excuse like he is injured. Put him on the bench for not being good enough. Wake him up and turn him into a nobody. Deactivate him for 2-4 games then put him as a gunner on special teams. Make him have to earn it all back again. Then I think you will see Clayton be good again. Thats the problem if you cut him he will get that reality check and come back with another team
