I know that making predictions is pointless at this time of the year, I just wanted to get a sense from the board on how well the Falcons will do and of course our beloved Bucs.

A co-worker of mine is a huge Falcon fan and tried to convince me that the Falcons will be 8-8 and the Bucs will be 5-11. I personally think it will be the other way around.

His argument around the Falcons was based on an improved defense and the running of Dunn & Norwood.

Thoughts?

Bucs 6-10. Falcons 5-11. It could be reversed or both could be worse.

It's going to be close. I don't think the Falcons will be as bad as some think.

Dunn is coming off surgery, new coach, diff QB, Finneran on IR, Abraham still a little gimpy, no WRs, and PETA is outside screaming murder.

I'm curious how anyone could think we'll win 10 games.
Special teams - OK, but not great
Defense- Maybe better, but might not be in top 10
Offense - Not likely in top 10. Lucky if its in top 15.
So what makes us a 10-win team?

Atlanta has a coach with ZERO NFL experience, those coaches with little experience tend to fail. Just ask nick saben

well, if we have a top 15 offense and defense we actually do have a shot at 10 wins with our easy schedule.

Falcons will have the 1st pick of the 1st round in the 2008 NFL Draft. They'll draft Booty.

I don't consider our schedule easy. Average maybe.

Actually he was an assistant at Jacksonville under Tom Coughlin from 1999-2001. The Jags were 27-21 over that time and the offense was ranked 7, 7, and 20 over that period. And Nick Saban was previously an assistant in Cleveland under Bill Belichick, too.

Atlanta has arguably the worst QB situation in the NFC.
They have an elite TE who has bad knees. Their WR corps is OK but not great.
Their defense is questionable.
So regardless of how you rate their coach, it's tough to see them winning too many games.

Assuming those assumptions are correct, the NFC makes the Bucs a possible 10 win team. If the defense is anywhere in the top half of the league, then they can pretty much handle most of the NFC teams. Same with the offense. If the team is even in the top half of the league, then they're already one of the better offenses in the NFC, just because the top 15 will pretty much consist of AFC teams with a few NFC teams in the mix.
