Zabransky or Gradkowski?

Should we upgrade?

Would it really be an upgrade with another young QB that has to come in and learn this offense?  I know Bruce hasn't lit it up, but he does have well over a year absorbing the system and, for better or worse, 11 starts under his belt as a rook.

Gradkowski has the experience, he has the mobility, he has the accuracy on 5 yard passes and he is a heady QB

I dont think Gradkowski will ever be able to hit a WR 15 yards down field. Not even in practie with no one covering him. The guy cant throw the ball on target from 15 yards away.

Zabransky never lost a game in college.

And Grads had a 70% completion rate in college.  I just don't know if there's a major upgrade in Zabransky.

Pretty marginal. I like Zabransky, but I'm not sure if I'd do it.

Yea I think I agrewe with you guys. Mine as well just stick with the guy we have.

I noticed Gradkowski had a 70% completion rate in preseason too. Now I see why his n umbers looked so good in college. He didnt hit on 1 deep ball and he threw a lot of them in the preseason yet his completion % was still that high

He also didn't get sacked in the pre season which is a nice stat for Grads.

Yea I love his decision making and running ability. I just wish he had the arm of Chris SImms.

Honestly Zabransky is an upgrade over Grads. Dude is mobile, taller, throws a better ball, and would certainly be an upgrade.

If Grads could improve is long throwing ability, he would have a lot to offer.

Zabransky is very fast for a QB...

HIs arm strength is better than GRads...

I dunno.  I would call it a wash.  Either guy is a career backup, Z has more mobility than G, and that is his edge though.  And when I say mobility, I mean Z would get 15-20 on a busted, G would 5-10. 

Wouldn;t hurt my feeling to see Z come in.  BUt that means 5 QBs...he he he...

Take away one game and would any of us care about Zabransky?  It was the best football game I've ever seen that I had no affiliation with, but he got cut for a reason.

Zabransky has lots more talent than Gradkowski.   But neither one of them will be anything great.   I just watched the part of the Texans game where Grads tries to go to a wide open Gessner deep and misses him by a mile, then later tries to go deep again to Gessner who is open but not wide open and Grads misses him by a mile, then the next series Grads throws a 15 yard pass to Gessner who is not open in the least and the ball is picked (but call of the int is reversed).   An NFL QB has to be able to hit some deep passes if your team is to compete.   I feel bad for Gessner because he could have had over 100 yards receiving in that game if the QB could have gotten him the ball when he was wide open.
