Got it? Well... no.

The Raiders could've made it happen, boss, but A) this is about Russell being lazy and B) there's more at stake for Russell than there is for the Raiders. The Raiders will suck this year no matter what, plus they have their QB for the year. Russell needs to be on the field more than the Raiders need to be hijacked by some half-talent, no-heart QB. I put the onus more on him than the team.

That is fine, but the Raiders were going to suck anyway AND it is pretty much common knowledge that a first year QB that plays right away is a disaster. In fact, some experts (certainly not me) have argued that it is more damaging for a QB to play right away then to sit and learn (exactly why Brady Quinn won't start the first game in spite of playing the best in the preseason). Lastly, your calling him "no talent" shows considerable ignorance. Lazy? Maybe. But there is no disputing his ability to throw a football. His NFL workout (which I obviously didn't attend) was one of the best a quartback has had in years......see the below quote from Todd McShay, Senior Draft Analyst for ESPN

“His passing session was the most impressive of all the pro days I’ve been to,” McShay said. “His footwork for such a big quarterback was surprising. He was nimble in his dropbacks and when he’s rolling out and throwing on the run. We all knew coming in that his arm strength is extraordinary. The ball just explodes out of his hands. His 73rd, 74th and 75th throws, he was flicking the ball 60 yards with his wrist and putting it right on the numbers.”

Lack of talent? Think again....
