We really need to start getting some production from the 4th pick in the draft. Here's what other players picked top 10 have done so far...

Joe Thomas-Starting LT for Browns 8th ranked offense.
Levi Brown-Starting LT for Cardinals 10th ranked offense.
La Ron Landry-Starting S for Washington 14 solo tackles 10 assists 0.5 sacks
Adrian Peterson-76 for 383 5.0 ypa 1 TD 9 for 166 rec. 18.4 avg 1 TD
Jamaal Anderson-Starting DE Falcons 9 solo 3 assists 1 FF
Ted Ginn, JR-Backup Receiver Dolphins 2 rec 51 yds. Starting Punt and Kickoff Returner 20 for 505 9 for 63.
Amobe Akoye-Starting DT Texans 13 solo 1 assist 4 sacks 1 FF

Obviously the only player to do less out of the top 10 is JaMarcus Russell who wasn't really expected to play in the first half of the season. Both DEs haven't shown up to what they were expected to do. Gaines needs to get going NOW.

I agree. Adams would have 8 sacks by now except Gruden made a mean-face at him and ruined him.

Adams hasn't been any revelation and he's struggling to even be effective in most games. You'd like to see more flashes from him of the pass rush skills that pushed him into the top 10 especially against a lot of the B team type players he's seen. <insert but he's gotten close and/or tries really hard arguments here>.

I think last week was the perfect game to let him loose, see a lot of action and see what he can do out there, and that's what the staff did. He's clearly a work in progress. It's true he's not making the immediate impact you'd expect of the #4 pick, but if in a couple of years he becomes a beast, I won't be complaining about last week.

Week 4 against Travelle Wharton and David Carr was his best opportunity for a breakout performance. Michael Roos and Vince Young are going to be difficult.

So the difference between Jamaal Anderson in ATL and Gaines is 2 solo tackles and one forced fumble? Give this guy some time to develop. We need to look at his entire season before we can even start to judge the pick. Additionally it may take 3 years before we really assess the choice.

Gaines wasn't all that at Clemson...   he was WAY overrated in the draft...  it was just a bad year for Defensive Lineman in last years draft, and its what the Bucs needed..    he's just not worth it thus far...

I haven't said anything negative about him. Now you're just being spiteful. I even mentioned that both DEs haven't done much and he needed to do more. I don't think that's being negative as much as it's stating the obvious.
