when usf is a good team that deserves to be ranked as highly as they were, i'll be the first to admit it.

but the homerism was sickening. all the talk about a championship. the way literally overnight they went from 20k at a game to sell outs and all everyone talked about was how they've been a fan forever. its ridiculous.

blah blah blah. Funny how your interest in what USF fans were saying suddenly changed with their high ranking.

because what USF fans were saying changed. You NEVER heard about how they were the 'best team in florida' and should 'get a title shot'. All you heard was that they had a good team and a great coach.

Why would fans have been talking about best in Florida or a title shot before this year?  Back in the early days there was talk about making noise in the D1-AA playoffs if givien the chance.  You don't know what you're talking about.  The ranking was deserved at the time and so was the excitement by the fans.

USF discovered a painful lesson that it is harder to remain on top than to get there.  They have another rung to climb and that is winning games away from home when they are the slight favorite.  When you are the underdog you tend to play loose.  Being the favorite changes everything.  USF certainly could have won all the last 3 games had they reached the next level and its fleetingness. Both FSU and Miami at one time had that right attitude as "road warriors".  Any team any place.  USF is learning the difficulty on those road games.  Of course 8 turnovers pretty much guarantees a loss anywhere. To USF's credit they still almost won last weekend.

What is the freaking big deal about that?? Why did it get YOUR panties in such a wad ....? Homers love the home team. That's what homers do. What would have been more of a travesty is if they got that highly ranked and were STILL only pulling in 20K a game .... and I'm 100% positive if that would have happened you would have been on here talking shít about THAT.
You can deny it all you want but the fact that Notre Dame is having the worst season in its' history played into your going off the deep end about little upstart USF getting all the pub

Contrary to some opinions, I feel USF is still a very representative program fully capable of beating any team in Florida at this time.  Watching all 3 losses ( which I believe were just as winnable as UF's 3 losses). USF has an excellent team and I am not sure they wouldn't show well against just about anyone in the country at this time.  They did appear to a bit more susceptible to the run in the last 3 games both up the gut and to the sidelines. Offensively, except for Grothe they aren't running as well as they did earlier in the year.

Are they running out of gas?   Could be..  CFB is such an emotional game and it could just be that the team is emotionally drained.  If they can win their remaining games ( won't be easy!) they will have cleared yet another hurdle. ( dealing with heartbreaking losses).   A nice Bowl game with a win and USF will have moved up yet another notch nationally.  Grothe is a quality QB and there is talent on USF.

Grothe is pretty good...problem is there isn't much around him.  Rutgers completely ripped their OL apart with the blitz.  That is how you beat them, blitz relentlessly.

Their D is top notch, but I don't think they can run with a quality offense with more than one dimension.

USF is a far more balanced team offensively and defensively than UF.

You are clearly such a FSU homer...Darnell Dockett is your favorite non-Buc and USF is more balanced than the Gators.

You are cute.

Biggest problem for USF and other mid tier schools is lack of talent at the big bodied positions. Productive college quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, linebackers and defensive backs slip through the cracks all the time but athletic big men are easy to spot in high school and the big schools zero in on them in a hurry. We all know if you're not strong at the point of attack, you're not going to be a championship level team.

Total defense: 18
Spread: 29

UF
Total offense: 22
Total defense: 40
Spread: 18

I just noticed that Grothe has more rushing yardage than Tebow...  Never would have thought that would be the case.

Yup, Grothe has 27 more rushing yards.

Tebow has 7 more rushing TD's

Tebow has 289 more passing yards

Tebow has 12 more passing TD's

What, exactly, is your point?
