I think the motivational deal by Deacon Jones worked well, he is gaining confidence, and I did notice him double teamed on occasion, but he's got to keep fightin' after initial contact.
I do feel better about him after this week than at any other time.

Did the Vikes pick right after us?

No, the draft order was us, the Cards, the Redskins, then the Vikings.

John Galt?

When Adams reached in and got hold of Warners arm I was amazed that; a) Warner didn't fumble, b) Warner stayed upright.  8 out of 10 times that would have been a sack or a fumble.

Yea, I know that would have been nice to see that. Gaines 1st carrer int, probably would have scored too.

Couple of photos from the game

Gaines Adams on the pressure

Gaines help stopping the run, he isn't 1 dimensional.. Hes a better run supporter than Rice already

JUst more evidence that the "gaines is a bust" crowd have very little football sense.

From the Pewter Report Mid-Season Report:

MOST DISAPPOINTING - DEFENSE- DE Gaines Adams

It's understandable that some rookies will face a tough learning curve in their first season in the NFL. But there is also some understandable frustration and disappointment from the Bucs' brass over the play of Adams, Tampa Bay's first-round pick. Because of Adams' lofty draft status - he was picked fourth overall in 2007 - the expectations were that he would have more than 1.5 sacks through the first eight games.  Adams has shown flashes of becoming a good pass rusher, and has applied pressure to quarterbacks at times this year, but he still appears to be a year away from becoming the dominant force on defense Tampa Bay was hoping he would become.

I haven't seen many people call Gaines a Bust, most just want him to SHOW US MORE.  enough said.
