yep. You look at Kansas, OU, and Mizzou strength of schedule its a joke and to think they could jump Oregon is awful. Dont get me wrong KU deserves to go if they win out but no way Mizzou or OU

No, Oregon plays in the Pac 10. There isn't a team in the Pac 10 with a defense.

It kind of goes hand in hand

for instance, a great offensive team could be hurt by a poor defense.  See UF this year.  Extremely potent offense, but if defense can't get off of the field the offense can't score as much.  I believe UF is something like 3rd in yards per play, but almsot dead last in total plays.


In OR case, Dixon goes down and the offense isn't as potent.  Defense now has to play more on the field, more 3 and outs, more from behind.  It wears on a team. 

If Dixon is in maybe there are more sustained drives, defense gets more rest, defense plays with a lead and can tee off, etc.

QB going down can mean a whole lot.

I imagine if Garcia were injured Bucs defense would look much much worse.  See last year as an example. I know Bucs added some good players on defense, but Garcia and the offense playing better has a great deal to do with the current "revival" of the Bucs D.
