TAMPA – Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Cato June was arrested early this morning and charged with driving under the influence.
Tampa police arrested June, who turned 28 on Sunday, at Osborne Avenue and North Dale Mabry Highway at 2:52 a.m., according to a police report.
June was a big part in the Bucs' 31-7 win in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon, leading the team with nine tackles. He also forced a fumble by Falcons wide receiver Roddy White. June has recorded 49 tackles so far this year, 35 of which were unassisted. He has forced one fumble and has one interception.
June spent four years with the Indianapolis Colts before signing with the Bucs in March. He was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2005 and was a sixth-round selection by the Colts in 2003 out of the University of Michigan.
At 6 feet tall and weighing 255 pounds, June is a native of Riverside, Calif., but grew up in Washington, D.C.
