I got a best buy giftcard for about $200 a few years back. So I purchased a decent car cd player and I got free installations. They people in the the mobile install center spent 3 hours on a simple car install. They final called me in and told me they couldn't figure out the problem so I just had them put my old cd player back in and I just spent my 200 dollars on CDs. Since that happen I don't buy anything form them excpet CDs and DVDs.

Best Buy is just too expensive.  I recently replaced my TV and audio set-up, and if I had used Best Buy it would have cost me $2500 more than I paid.

Where did you go to instead of Best Buy?

Various online outlets, mainly Amazon.

BTW - tigerdirect.com have a sale on today, and they are donating to the Susan G. Komen breats cancer organization.  For some of the special items they are donating 100% of what you pay.  I got a 600w PC power supply for $50 with a $50 rebate.  So my new PSU is free and Susan G. Komen gets $50.

Amazon.com is the greatest. Besides pewterreport, I spend most of my time on that web site.

It is a great site for sure.  Its funny, I used Amazon a lot a few years ago but for some reason I drifted away and started using other sites.  Just recently they have been highly competitive for most things I have been buying.

I am exactly the same way.  I never go near the Mall at the weekends, during the month of December or during any sales event.

Most shops were open at 5:00am, and most had huge lines before they opened.  AND in case you didn't notice most sales items are old end of line stuff, not new stuff.

I went into the new Toys R Us by my house this morning at about 6:00 AM before I went into work.  THere must have been 1000 people in that store.  You couldn't walk.  The line to check out was probably 100 deep.  I've actually completed 90% of my shopping for my 2 little ones and the nieces/nephews so I wasn't looking for anything in particular.   MJS is so right.  There were several items that I purchased on sale in the last couple of weeks that were regular price today.

There were people lining up outside Circuit City and Best Buys yesterday adn even Wednesday.  That's absurd.  My time is worth more than the minor savings I was going to get in that store this morning.

There is nothing on sale today in stores that I want and can't get cheaper online 365 days of the year.
