You should hear the losers on WDAE.  They think everything is constant, so Alstott has a couple good carries so he should get another 15 carries.  I love Alstott but with to think he would have been lighting it up week in and week out when Cadillac couldn't even find a slice of daylight is just idiotic.

I love Alstott like most Buccs fans, but his two carries yesterday are not typical of his current stature.  The Skins have been watching game tape and planning for Alstott has a FB, and we just sucker punched them by letting him carry the ball a couple of times.  Later on when he was in the backfield and they were ready for him he had two carries for negative yards.

How can you explain Beckle's idiocy other than just a complete contempt for Gruden personally?  The guy has played in the NFL, he knows enough to know Alstott would do worse than Cadillac behind this young inexperienced line.  He's supposed to be a professional and all he does is stoke Gooberville.

Every time Alstott touches the ball, good things happen.   Yet, this was the first game he had more than a couple of carries all year.   I used to think Gruden was a great offensive coach.   But the fact that he can't see the value of Mike Alstott (even at this stage of his career) makes me think that either Gruden has his head up his ass or that maybe Alstott slept with his wife.   It has to be either one or the other.   I don't think Gruden is so dumb that he can't see that Alstott produces when he gets the ball.   Either way, maybe Alstott should sue Gruden for ruining the last few years of his career.   The way he's been underused has been criminal.

Why is it so hard for some people to move on and realize that Alstott does not have what used to make him a great HB/FB.  In the past Alstott was a great pounding back and a decent blocking FB.  He will always be remebered for his abilities do do "EVERYTHING" well.  However, the last few seasons have not been up to par.  He shows some glimpses of his old self but in the past if you gave Alstott the ball on the one yard line he wouldn't need two chances.

Alstott isn't the same player he used to be and is becoming a liabilty to this team.  He isn't a great blocker, sometimes he isn't even good.  Now he is dropping more and more passes and is getting taken down with arm tackles more and more.  When he does decide to lower his shoulder and pick up the yards he is capable.

He was and will always be a great Buc but he should NOT get more then ten touches a game.  The past does not make you deserve things in the future.

Me neither.  He ran him straight over, then Springs got all ground up in the wheels as Alsttot stepped on him.  That was UUUGLY.

Personally, I have no great love for the West Coast offense. The short passing game depends on a lot to be succesful. Not everyone has Joe Montana and Jerry Rice.

Put Chris Simms in a power running game, combined with play-action and the deep ball......he would be killing people.

Put 8 guys in the box? Hit em deep in the one on one coverage.

Of course Gruden seems in love with the WCO.

I was very pleasantly suprise to see Alstott in there trucking people.

There are a lot of things about the current offensive efforts that are hard to understand.  Alstott not being used regularly but being so effective when he is used is one of them.

Not talking about the goalline usage - that is so telegraphed it isn't funny.  But using him yesterday to open the game, and when in as FB taking the hand off when the d is looking at Caddy - well he is useful.  And if coach is not gonna use him why is he there.  If it is just fan relations that is just crap.

I am a bucs fan, and I like Alstott.  If that makes me a troll so be it, that guy is good for the team and should be playing a bigger role with the team every damn week.  OR cut him, so he can get back to his family full time.  Either way, but don't ignore or belittle him either on the field or on this board.  He has done nothing to deserve it in my very humble opinion.

On Goaline.. Why not put Alstott in the FB spot and Caddy in the HB spot and Fake to Alstott and pitch to the outside to caddy..

Everything is SO predicable right up the middle..

That's what Gruden did last year...our offense consisted of running the ball out of two TE and/or two back sets and then throwing deep to Galloway. That's what we would do every game now if we could get the run game going. Too bad we don't play the crappy 'skins D every week.
