The media was just notified that Bucs tight end Alex Smith has a sprained ankle and his return to the game is doubtful. Smith was helped off the field and carted to the locker room.

Let's hope that's all it was.  Very often ligament tears are called sprains at first.

A ligament  tear is coded as a sprain on the ICD 9  codes used for billing, thought you all would find that thrilling.
