Who knows what difference it makes, except that for now, it makes the New England Patriot's first round pick (via SF) a "mere" top 10 pick and not a top 5 pick. 

We had nothing really to gain by winning anyway, but... injuries.

Some pride and momentum would have been nice. Maybe get Garcia back in sync with the team? That would have been nice too.

And I dont really give a damn about the Patriots.
