Valero Rips Gruden/Bucs on Way Out the Door

AHHH, that's better than the fader blame standalone comment.  You can get some traction with the draft efforts - sure would like to know how Clayton and Caddy would have performed over the past couple of years if the buccs could have gotten an average NFL qb .... but most have taht question. 

You metaphor is cute - but not reality - this o can run, but like any other one - you have to have the Oline and skill players that are close to NFL average.  And it would be nice to have had a NFL caliber qb we got in the 6th round...   Some of it is good fortune Ghost.  And like most Os - the better the qb the better everyone else plays...

This O cannot run unless it is run by a 35+ veteran OR Gruden has no idea on how to scout the players for his offense.

You can scrap it brah, I ain't goin' anywhere. This is a well coached team that played over it's head. Was bit pretty hard by the injury bug (13 on IR?) yet still managed to win and capture the division. The team that beat us in the playoffs is going to the NFC championshio game!

I will say I love your optimism.. but I have visions of 2006 stuck in my head.. the team going backwards after lucking into a playoff game. I still have seen nothing from the young players at the skill positions to keep me interested in seeing Gruden as the head coach.

That is pretty lame eval of what happened Ghost.  Yea he took a brief fling at filling a couple of spots with players he knew could help quickly.  It didn't work for varying reasons - but a lot has happened since then.  And you know it.

Yep.. we have pumped in 1 after the other 1st round picks on offense.. and nothing has happened. Trying to plug players into this offense and make it effective like trying to add cold air intake components to a 1987 Ford Escort and increasing it's 150 HP by 10 HP. It doesn't matter because it is never going to run any better, and you might as well scrap it.

Problem is Gruden thought he could patch the team up with old washed up Bay area players.. and it didn't work. He hasn't shown me he knows how to rebuild with a young team.

Honestly you won't like this - but it's pretty obvious and it didn't take long. Why is New York a better team? They have a pass rush AND they have receivers (more than one). That's about it. All else is pretty similar.

Considering the possibility that he (Valero) could very well be approaching Gruden,or somebody that comes from his staff, for a coaching job sometime in the future strikes me as not being very wise.
The connections between these staffs are all well known and burning bridges just isn't smart.

Maybe he doesn't want to work with Gruden again, ever think of that?

Ummm - nope, he got ditched again - and came back to Tampa looking for work - seems he and the GMs of the NFL just can't build a relationship where he gets paid enough Joe... LOL

It is troubling that so many people leave on the terms they do with this team and bad mouth Gruden. It's always the same - he's good with X's and O's but doesn't have the people skills you'd look for from your leader. Hopefully he improves if he is going to continue to be the coach here.

no, because the one's you hear from i could care less about.  the ones i do care about i havent heard quite the same things come out of their mouth.  Tomlin has had nothing but great things to say about Gruden, Valero who the hell cares...he'll be axed next year if Linehan can't make the playoffs.

Oh, and Lorax - damn few comments adverse to Gruden have occurred - three of those who did make them - Key, McCardell and Rice - well lets acknowledge they have a character flaw within the relationship with your employer portion of their make up.

Well, McCardell seems to have overcome those flaws.

And there were a few Raiders who had some not-so-nice, things to say. But who cares?
He destroyed them in the SB.

Nowhere have you proved it was bacause he wasn't assist HC or that they weren't going to re-hire him.

So then he would have said that if he were re-hired???....come one, man...get a clue.
