Steps to fix offense

Fix the O - hmmm

Finish the building of an Oline with a center
Find a RB in the draft (too expensive to get a FA RB to fit the bill)
Get two (2) FA wrs - one has to be a #1 - not a good #2 but a #1.
Get a back up TE - bc there is not one on the roster at the moment.

That will do a lot, if not all for the O. 4 players - three FAs and a pick - now getting the right guys would be priceless... LOL

I agree 100% with this as well...I hope Buenning is the answer  at C and hopefully SR/JF will fill us in on that more this offseason, but we definitely need to acquire at least a backup and possibly a starter at C.  I like us getting Mewelde Moore this offseason.  He is good fit, and can play special teams (he will come cheap).  Pittman will be gone and Caddy most likely won't be ready and so drafting a back is a good idea to go with Moore and Graham is probably needed as well.  I hope we resign Jermey Stevens and maybe even go for LJ Smith.  There are plenty of speed guys that can be had at the #2 spot without costing too much (I would like Donte Stallworth)None of this should cost much, the biggest cost would be the #1 receiver.  I would not be opposed to a trade or big signing for this position. 

None of the offensive moves should be too costly except the #1 receiver slot...Then we can focus the rest of the cash on DT (Cory Williams) and maybe DE....I would love to go into the draft not looking for need but just best player available...

Too bad this team has been let down by Simms and Gradkowski in the last couple of years b/c McCown has the potential to be a heckuva QB...

He could use the enthusiasm that most people apparently wasted on Chris and Bruce...

Great Point!  I agree...I think that given more weapons on offense, McCown would look even better.  It is amazing how limited some of you are in your thinking...Giving the standard that some of you set for some for our young players, you would have cut Jermaine Phillips by now...The problem is we rely too much on our youngest guys to make all the plays...Now that we have some cap space, we need to bring in some proven playmakers in their prime to help carry the load.  It's funny how lots of people now are clamoring for Corey Williams right now...but they sure would not have after looking at him the first two years.   I remember Bucs fans calling for cutting Barber and Kelly early on as well...

1.)  JP Losman to be the back up.  He is a guy who needs coaching, and has the skills to be a legit mobile WCO.
2.)  Simms is not a WCO, he should be traded to Mia or Houston
3.)  Sign   Graham to an incentive ladden extension to be the primary starting RB.  
4.)  Assuming Caddy can't play, re sign Bennett.  The guy played well in limited PT.  Pittman is a usefull player, and our 2nd best receiver, so we need him too.  
5.)  Acquire a Center.  This is becoming a more critical position during the era of the casino blitz
6.)  Go for the legit WR.  While I would love the comedy of seeing Gruden and Chad Johnson co exist, the best guy for this team is more of a Javon Walker type, both in price to get him and fit for the offense.  Porter to be another guy, not the only WR we acquire is fine too both in cost and potential ability.  A starting WR duo of Walker, Galloway, with Hilliard as the #3 and Porter in the wings is legitimate.
7.)  If Stevens is deemed not insane, he should be the starting TE, and his talents should be used in the offense a lot more than past TE's.  
8.)  When Clayton is the main target, we lose.  Clayton is just a mediocre #3/#4 type in this league.  If he is starting, we wont win.  
9.)  Pick up Callahan to replace Hackett.  While I hate the idea of yet another low wattage Raider here, if we keep Gruden, we have to give him some of "his boys" to go over film together.  Maybe with Callahan back, Gruden can have another pair of eyes to figure out what he has been doing wrong.  Gruden doesn't function well with folks he can't get along with, so to be fair, if he is here, you have to help him, not hurt him.

Steps to fix offense?

We've had six years.... how much more time you got?

5 years is more than enough time in the NFL to put your team together.. people who don't have it done at that point will never have it done.

1. If simms is healthy start him if not start McCown, I like Garcia but the guy doesn't have the arm for the big time throw. I doubt he can make it through a full season.
2. Get Chad Johnson and draft another speedy reciever, let Galloway have some plays off and cut Mike Clayton.
3. Get a homerun hitting running back in the draft to dual backfield with graham.
4. Keep Hilliard for short routes etc.
5. I have no problem with this young offensive line.
6. Draft a QB of the future or at least one with a CHANCE of being one, not a sixth round pick.

I will probably get ripped for this but Im tired of watching our defense panting on the field and slowly worked down by and offense that cannot move the football. We were a joke offensively against the Giants. I support Gruden but I really wish they would bring in someone to help run the offense. I think everyone here appreciate his hard work, but something is not clicking and we dont have much talent.

Sign the #1 WR avaliable and draft the #1 WR if he is there. Get the o-line healthy and get a new health plan because 12 players on IR is sickening

1.  Trade for a top flight reciever.
2.  Cut Gradkowski, and seal him in a crate in the middle of the night and drop him on a ship to Singapore.
3.  Sign a center to compete with Wade.
4.  Sign a Westbrook type back to compliment Graham / cut Pitman.
5.  Cut Simms.
6.  Draft another QB late that fits the system.

regardless of Simms blowing ability, he can throw the ball a lot better than Garcia and if we are going to have any good/great weapons we need someone to get them the ball

A healthy Simms can throw a better deep ball than Garcia.  But we can't just throw deep balls, and Simms either throws a deep ball or gets batted at the line.
