$3.1 Trillion dollar budget?

You have to wonder if Bush truely is trying to destroy the economy. The Bush administration has proposed a record-breaking $3.1 trillion dollar budget. That will bring the budget deficit to $410 billion this year and will almost certainly assure that the US national debt will break $10 trillion by the time Bush leaves office next year. The next president is going to inherit one hell of a mess.

And those numbers are based on the assumption the economy does not fall into recession, and it also doesnt include possible additional funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

If Bush was the CEO of any company, he would have been thrown out a long time ago.

I am guessing tax cuts for the top 2-3% of earners is pretty high on his wish list.

yeah it should... those top 2-3% pay for the schools, healthcare for illegals, welfare. And create the jobs.

I read the top 10% pay over 50% of the taxes... what should he do give tax cuts to the poor who dont pay? Or give tax cuts to the guys paying the bills and supplying the jobs.

How is it that Australia can have no debt at all and we are so far in debt that we'll never get out of it?    Are our leaders that much dumber than the Aussies?

That is the same in practically every country in the world....tax kind of works out like that.   This country needs to invest in the future while we have the income to spare.  The really funny thing is many super wealthy (Gates/Buffet) that benefit the most from the tax cuts are actually donating billions to foreign charities.....the irony.

I just hate the "get the evil rich" idea that people are infected with. Too many politicians want to slam the people that usually worked there asses of to get to the top 10%, who supply the middle class jobs, and pay for the middle class kids schooling. I congratulate Bush for giving tax cuts and have no problem giving tax cuts to the guys who create the jobs. People who hate the tax cuts to the top 10% gotta remember you raise taxes its not there money they will lose, its your job they will cut.
