The big problem is our highest paid player(Rice) stunk also.

what did you expect from rice? that guy is all about peaks and valleys. rice shows up once a month for a 3 sack game and disappears in between. i can only hope that he ends up with at least 10 sacks so we can still trade him for a day one pick.

Can't disagree.   Though at least Rice seemed to be trying hard to get some pressure on Brees.   A large amount of cap space is sitting in those two guys.   One tackle.

If we don't start winning some games very soon our "valley" will be so low that their "peaks" won't mean anything, except to pad some stats and get money elsewhere.

Simeon had an abdominal injury in the first quarter, which could explain why he went into the locker room at one point. I think it was the friendly fire hit by Phllips which injured Rice. Regardless, he played his heart out, the rest of the game. He had plenty of pressures and almost tipped that pass that went for a TD. I don't think Rice is our problem. If you put a quality DT playing alongside him, he's a 15 sacks a year player. He can't play with the worst goddamn UT in the league beside him. 0 sacks 0 tackles 0 assists 0 pressures. Are you effing kidding me?!? Rice has about 3 good years left in him. He's only 31 years old. Strahan is 34 and still productive. What we need is a competent UT.

it is pretty sad that when 5 defensive backs lead your team in tackles...only 2 players out of our front 7 had 2 or more tackles
(quarles and brooks)...it's time to revamp our front 7...i say we go get albert haynesworth from the titans, im sure they'll let him
go pretty cheap...i d c what you guys say about his on field antics...we need some big nasty **CENSORED**'s on our dline and at 6'7' and 300+ i say he'll fit quite nicely

Bottom line our D Line sucked. We all know Sim is a premier DE who had an off night, but WTF is going on with Booger. One of the most overrated DTs who hasn't accomplished s&^%.
This offseason we need to concentrate on DLine.

I'll take a passionate, violent guy like Haynesworth over a lazy good for nothing, ho hum 'I hope I can get under 90' this week on the links jerkoff like Booger. If you're going to be obsessed with golf over being a quality UT, at least be good at it. LOL. Booger SUCKS...AT BOTH SPORTS!!!

Booger stinks and has never impressed me from the day he was drafted.  This should be his last year as a Buc along with Rice.

How much cap space can we free up by cutting Booger?

I'm not ready to ditch Rice because if we had a decent UT his play would pick up dramatically.

Rice's problem is that everyone in the world knows he is the only guy we have that can rush.  He can't win every battle, every play.  And peaks and vallies, while somewhat true, is not that much of an issue as overall he is good.  And he seems like the only guy on D that's playing with any heart right now.

what were booger's numbers like at the time McTraiter gave him that huge deal? That single move has and will continue to hurt this team....
