We did a Madden Preview of this weekends game over at thecaptainsdeck.net
The Buc’s traveled to Heinz Field a little bit early to take on the Steelers on “Madden 2007” for the Xbox. And it was a classic game.
The weather was clear but cold, and as night grew closer it began to snow a little bit, which as we know is never good for the Bucs. At kickoff, the Bucs receive and do nothing, and for the rest of the 1st quarter it was a defensive struggle, both teams failing to enter opponent territory and combining for less than 100 yards in total offense. But the second quarter would prove to bring change.
Early in the 2nd quarter, Ben Roethlisberger found Hines ward for a 64 yard touchdown, burning Ronde Barber for the big play. The Steelers added an extra point to make it 7-0. The Bucs get the ball and punt it away, just to allow another big play, this one a 62 yard pass to Santonito Holmes on a slant across the middle. That made it 14-0. The Bucs got it back and Bruce Gradkowski makes his first mistake of the game and throws a pick to give the Steelers good field possession, but the Bucs get it right back on a Ryan Nece interception, only to punt it right back. Then Juran Bolden makes a leaping interception to give the Bucs the ball at the Steelers 30, but Gradkowski is sacked and they are forced to punt. The Steelers then go from their own 10 to the Bucs 10, and get down to the 3, but are held to only a field goal, 17-0. A Phillip Buchannon muffed punt return sets up another field goal, and at the half, it is 20-0.
