The problem with the CBA is teams have to spend at least $98.5 million, so team that are a long way under the cap will throw money at average players.

The Bucs are taking the Culverhouse approach

In Football, RESPECT is never given freely by your opponent. It must be TAKEN from them...VIOLENTLY

Great players cost a lot of money but help win games. High-priced players - a byproduct of poorly run front offices with bad scouting departments - only cost a lot of money.

Glad we didn't overpay these 2 overrated players. It is amazing they are both getting this much money when neither of them have even had a 1,000 yard season in their career.

well what is going to happen when all the average players are signed? are the Bucs just going to be handing out pay raises?

I just cannot fathom going into next season with the same group that we currently employ at the skilled positions.

We have to spend some money.  Makes you wonder if there's something going on here that we don't know about.

Maybe extend and salary raises for players already on the team (i.e. Graham, Haye, White).  Could give them room for a potential trade...

Any money left over above and beyond $17(ish) million will get distributed amongst the squad next April.

$8 or $9 million of that $28mill will get eaten up by the draft. We spent some $$ on Faine.  I don't think the minimum is going to be an issue.

No need to extend someone when they are already under contract, We where lead to believe that the team was targeting "Tiger Woods" types this off-season only to find out we are going after the John Dailys of the world.

The team did not use 8 nor 9 million on last years draft class even with a  top four pick and two second rounders

Well you can't really extend someone who isn't under contract...

No need to extend a younger vet that deserves it while only having one year left on their deals and also well deserving a raise?

Unfortunately there are a lot of teams that have $20 million plus to throw away in FA.  I have a feeling some very average players will be getting very nice pay days this FA.

Well, that's your own fault for misinterpreting what Bruce Allen said. I told everyone not to get amped up, but people didn't want to listen to me.
