Not that we ever considered it. Perhaps Demarrio Williams is more in line with what we are trying to accomplish.

Demorrio Williams-LB-Chiefs Mar. 1 - 11:19 pm et

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the Falcons have agreed to terms with LB Demorrio Williams on a five-year, $16 million contract, with $5.5 million guaranteed.

Let's hope he's not another Kendrell Bell. Williams is a rangy defender who has always racked up tackles, but there are questions about his toughness. He fits the Kansas City mold as a young defender with speed and should start right away. He has some IDP upsid

Just don't understand why there wasn't more of a market for Briggs. He basically signed for what he was making last year from the Bears. Guess the demand wasn't that great after all.

Just as I suspected, Briggs was just using other teams as leverage.

Just like with Cato June last year, there are lots of questions as to how Tampa 2 linebackers fit in with other schemes.

FRG is the most logical poster on this board.  You guys just don\'t like where the logical conclusions take you.

Nobody even brought him in for a visit. His agent couldn't even use other teams for leverage.

That's what puzzles me Dan. There was all this hype (maybe driven by Rosenhaus) before free agency began and then -- nada. Not even a sniff by any team. Talk about a heaping helping of humble pie.

And the lack of visits was hurting Briggs from a personal standpoint. I think he finally just said "to hell with it, just accept the contract from the Bears".

I think Briggs took Chicago's offer because he didn't want to be embarrassed(no visits, no offers) while twisting in the wind. So he took the sure thing.
