Never know with the draft.

Given what we know about Jackson now, it would be safe to say he would be picked early in Round1.

These things happen, we all have opinions.  He did suffer a concussion already...so he may have a short career.  He may go on to be a superstar studmuffin.  Who knows.

I thought Lovie said he wanted quickness & speed, even at the QB position?

Can't say picking Talib was the wrong choice(can you imagine where we'd be if Mack was an everyday starter?) but COME ON Bruce Allen why on earth did you not trade up?!

While the draft is an inexact science, there is no doubt that you can make valid points and conclusions on players before they enter the NFL. It's not a complete known, but far from an unknown some would want to believe.

Without a doubt, 1st rounders are more successful than 2nd rounder, 2nd rounders are more successful than 3rd rounders etc. The fact that this is statistically significant (you can look either at years in league, average pro bowls etc) means that you can make valid conclusions about players, just not all the time. Meaning that thinking Desean Jackson or Steven Jackson might be a good Pro can be more than just luck. You don't have to look farther than Rivals.com or another scouting site that ranks HS football players. Vince Young was rated the top player in his HS class and went in the top 5 of the draft. Reggie Bush was rated second in his class to Ernie Sims, both were top 15 picks etc.
