Great players cost a lot of money but help win games. High-priced players - a byproduct of poorly run front offices with bad scouting departments - only cost a lot of money.

Plank, some of those good statistics were offensive statistics, and Gruden hasn't been with the team as long as Monte has.

That said, there is NO QUESTION that Monte's defensive statistics obliterate Gruden's offensive statistics.

.....just my opinion

There has been "glimpses" of good things on offense, but mainly inconsistencies. I HOPE  everything can be put together soon....

You and me both!!

I think Gruden tried to develop a good offense at first without building from the ground up.  Then I think he realized how much the o-line was holding us back and went to building that in 2006.  We all saw the improvement in the yardage and points increase last year.  Now that he is building from the ground up, I think that improvement will continue.

Now that the o-line is there, we need PLAYMAKERS!

BTW, I didn't mean to indicate that Gruden didn't know he needed a good o-line.  The story is that when he got to Tampa he was incensed when he looked at tape and realized how little offensive talent we had.  With that knowledge, and with little cap room or draft picks to correct the situation, he may have gone for the quickest fix he could, then realized it wasn't working.  He always had a good o-line in Oakland and knows it's value.

.....just my opinion

Nice facts and cool to read some of those. But there is the perspective of "Bucs History" and most of that before Dungy and the Glazers was pretty bleak except for the 1978-79 season. Thank you, Hugh Culverhouse.

Matt Bryant is cool and everything and that 63 yd. field goal was amazing but it seems like he just misses easy kicks alot.
