I trample through that particular fence at will. The Republicans are too busy destroying the environment to realize that we're a part of that environment and will go down with it. The Democrats are living in a dream world, so busy focusing on the way the world should be that they refuse to address the way the world actually is.

Hormones and chemicals pumped into their food supply to get quicker and larger harvests resulted in disease and cancer.

Don't forget that our government created the HIV Virus to faster kill black people too. Oh, and introduced the blacks to Crack Cocaine also.  ::) [banghead]

Our world is far more grosly effected by religion and racism than it is greed.

If Christ is to tarry for another two to three hundred years, history will look back at this time period and say that it was greed that caused humanity so much of it's problems.

I'll go out on a limb here and say that greed has caused humanity so much of its' problems through ALL time periods, not just this one...

Absolutely true.  What I have is a relationship with Christ, not religion.

Well I wonder if you would consider that we Americans, and our minders, aren't lieing to us at all?

I wonder if it could be that we are perfectly willing to buy oil at todays prices? We have obviously spent a LOT of money securing our, AND the worlds access to oil, at whatever price we all currently pay. Afterall we buy more oil from Mexico, Canada and Venezuela than we do from the middle east. Now if it truly were oil that was the focus wouldn't we be enciting a war a little closer to home in Latin America?

I wonder if you would accept the fact that there really is an Islamo-Fascist desire to seize control of the area by any means necessarry and then attempt to bring the world to it's knees, by starving it from oil? There really is a Pan-Arab ideal that is being exploited to band under a bastardized belief system in order to exert pressure over what the world holds dear. Europe can't do anything about this Ilslamo-Fascist hegemony - the populations of these countries are MAJOR concerns. They capitulated long ago to the tyranny of their vocal minority.

Also, with the very large fields discovered in the Gulf of Mexico and Anwar, to name just two, why is it that we don't simply drill on our own soil for this bloody stuff? Why have we not built a new refinery in this country in over 30 years? Why are we handcuffed to buying from renegade dictators, oligarchies, and potentates - by our own legislatures?

Could it be that the reason we buy oil from underpriviledged nations is to help them develop? Why has so much of the wealth derived by those ruling middle east governments not gone to their people, either directly or indirectly? Why have the ruling nations not developed their countries better and why can they not protect their own interests?

The problem is not just our usage of this resource, the problems and the questions are more profound. If you expand your search beyond the evil that America does in seeking to protect the resources our country depends on - you will see that the rest of the world does the same thing and are feeding the monster. The US stopped depending so heavily on middle east oil after the 70's oil crises. We saw what would happen when too much reliance on a cartel of folks banding together to make oil hard to get and expensive - in an attempt to hijack/blackmail the US into doing what they wanted us to do.

So we went to war in Iraq to ensure that our number 5 supplier of oil would continue to produce cheap oil? Didn't those smart guys from Harvard know that war drives prices up? You mean their only motivation is money and they could care less about those 4000 men who dies, the cost of oil and the cost to the US taxpayer for an unpopular war...you mean they have popular wars...? really? When was the last popular war that kept a party or a president in power in this nation....hmmm....oh right...Rooselvelt I remember him...big guy smiled a lot walked with a limp....

I think we have intertwined interests. One of them is that in order to work for peace we ought to have folks who understand what democracy is about. The UN is something like 192 countries and only something on the order of 92 countries are democracies. I think that is a problem. I think bad men in the middle east have bad intentions and part of that is to control the worlds acess to oil. These bad men have allies that don't like being held in check by America and seek to end our influence on world issues and events.

Could it be that you are right and we're ONLY fighting for oil? Sure. Just like it could be that we are fighting a war to ensure that the bad guys don't create so much inertia that we have to fight another Hitler. It could be that we really are seeking to establish Iraq as a democracy because they are inherently better able to regulate peace. Iran does not want a strong Iraq and they are seeking to undermine our efforts. China is more than happy to aid anyone who opposes America. Syria would love it if we went home - they have some land to the south of them that they'd love to annex, sans many of the residents of that land.

Perhaps though all of our interests have intertwined to force us to deal with a very specific issue. Regardless of whether their were any terrorists in Iraq prior to the war - it has defintely become a magnet for ANY and ALL hate specialists into one area - where they can fight the "great satan" on a battlefield near them. One good byproduct is, our people have guns and tanks and airplanes over there to defend themselves - so there really aren't as many as there were 5 years ago - the really whako ones are dieing at an alarming rate.

These guys did what all bad guys do. Create or bastardize beliefs in order to manipulate them. God does not tell us to kill our neighbor, he tells me to love my neighbor as myself. Men make wars, not religions. Religions actually do the opposite - even Egles and Marx compared religion to opium - kinda hard to get people motivated by preaching peace though.

Neville Chamberlain would have loved you guys.

My point proven...The wicked White man didn't create this world-wide religious mess and the Blacks (and Whites) who support a Rev. like a Jerimiah Wright should be ashamed of the $10 Million home they so blindly and willingly gave to such a Race Baiter/USA/White Hater.

Hate comes from every angle my friends and it's a shame so many of us has supported such nonsense for this long. To put a true end or a true "CHANGE" to it now would be to show the 90% of blacks and 70% of hispanics who've voted for such a shadow in Barry Obama that to run for the USA President you have to be more than just a smooth speaking inexperienced Senetor who has far too many Anti-American obligations that they're too much like a single guy's palms...too hairy to hide.

And Clinton, and Bush, and Reagan.

We ignored them with tepid reactions to attacks, so they got bolder until they could climb up and knock the chip off America's shoulder...in Lebanon, in Somalia, and we even left Iraq once - the towers still fell. Same guys different places.

When a man wants to kill you, passive disinterst in him probably won't make him take his finger off the detonator.

You have to make eye contact with him first.

It's really not about Obama. It's about so many voters being easily manipulated and ignorant about
the platform. Happens all the time. We have nobody to blame but ourselves.

Disagree Buckeye, because while Bush sr & jr have been in office we have been involved in two MAJOR wars where thousands of troops are being deployed and many have died....................for oil.
