I'm not about to compare him to Brooks, but he ought to be a solid contributor on special teams.  When you get down to the sixth round, that's all I *really* expect.  I mean, if he develops into more, great.  But it seems foolish to judge him on that sort of a standard at this point.

HUGE value in the 6th round.

20 year old kid that will mature under Brooks. He's made young-stupid mistakes. If he stayed at FSU another year he probably would have gone in round #1 next year.

I like the pick alot! Derrick will take this young Nole under his wing and school him right.

Poor Man's Ernie Sims with character issues.

As a Bucs fan I hope it works out...I guess there is some upside if he gets his act together.

Spending a 6th rounder, I guess it is worth it.

Geno Hayes was the last remaning player on Mike Mayock's top 100 players, and the Bucs nabbed him in round six. NFLN analysts really like this pick for the Bucs.

its a nice pickup this late in the draft.  he was a playmaker for FSU.  rangy and athletic.  i know we signed a platoon of  reserve LBs this offseason but I think he has more upside than some of them.

Nice job.  And he's only twenty years old.  A couple years with Brooks and June, and I say eventual starter for Bucs.

Those PlayStation All-Americans up there thinking they know football because they watched a game on TV.

He's better than Adam Hayward who we got in the 6th last year.. GREAT pick in the 6th.

I'm sure fellow FSU alum Brooks will keep him straight.

He may end up on the practice squad or being let go in July or August.

Same could be said for any draft pick

Wow PR listed him as the #4 OLB in the draft preview issue. How has he slipped this far? at 225 pounds seems to be too light for a linebacker, even for a system such as ours that uses "undersized" LB's.

Only thing I remember about this guy is him calling out Tebow saying he was "going down".  That Saturday Tebow went nuts, stiff armed him down on a rush with a sore shoulder and broken hand.  I WISH he was the next D Brooks, but there is NO CHANCE of that.  D Brooks is special.  Key question is if he beats out Nece or Heyward for a position with the team.
