The same reason we traded for Griese...?

Griese is a MUCH better QB than either Simms or Gradkowski and would've actually drawn interest unlike those two clowns.

And eating his $300k roster bonus from his current contract was lower than the higher signing bonus he would've gptten on the open market.

Simms MAYBE would have some small value, but to think that anyone would trade for Gradkowski is just plain laughable.

I hope you are wrong but in the back of my mind fear you may be right. Again, lets hope not.

In order to trade, you need a trade PARTNER. That's what a lot of people here fail to realize.

Who's gonna want Simms and Gradkowski? ESPECIALLY when they know the Bucs are going to most likely cut them anyways?!?!?!?

Then the next thing is "what teams need another QB"  that would see either one of them as better than what they already have.

We are hip deep in LBs and QBs. Geno Hayes will make several good players expendable. Not sure Gradkowski would draw any interest from anyone but Simms should be good for a late round pick in next year's draft. This is going to be a very interesting off-season.

I wish..but noone is gonna waste a late rounder on simms until they see him actually throw the ball...his workouts last year were terrible..had no zip, no accuracy..and he was talking about havign to relearn his throwing motion....no team will take a chance on that...

And we couldnt give grads away..he was a 6th to start with and hasnt panned out...at all...still misses his throws on a regular basis and has shown no improvement in his arm stregnth

You can't really get much or Simms because everyone knows we're going to cut him.

Gradkowski won't attract much attention either. He's just not that good and he's likely another training camp cut.

With Josh Johnson coming in it looks like we'll have to cut or trade either Griese or McCown since we only have room for three QB's on the roster.

When a player is cut, first he has to clear waivers,  which means teams in draft order have first crack.  If Philly or NYG wanted a vet backup they might spend a 6 or a 7 to insure they get him rather than risk some other team getting him first.  I could see Philly, NYG, NE, Indy, being interested in a veteran backup (Simms).

Grads is not really a veterean so his value is near 0.
