When a player is cut, first he has to clear waivers, which means teams in draft order have first crack. If Philly or NYG wanted a vet backup they might spend a 6 or a 7 to insure they get him rather than risk some other team getting him first. I could see Philly, NYG, NE, Indy, being interested in a veteran backup (Simms).
Grads is not really a veterean so his value is near 0.
