Keep in mind Scott doesn't watch coaches film or press-box film.
He watches the games on cable and ESPN just like I and everyone else does.
Mayock has access to that stuff because he works for the NFL, so thats why we should value his opinion.
Like I said Sunny, I don't mean to ruffle your feathers or anything. I honestly have no idea how much work you put into your draft stuff and would never denigrate what you do. BTW, I had nothing to do with your old thread being bumped. I was just commenting on the discussion here.
All I'm saying that even if you put hours in watching games - its still doesn't tell you enough about the player. Sure, you'll likely have more insight than many of us who have better things to do with our lives and I definitely respect that...but in the end - you're still talking about stuff you don't and couldn't possibly know about. In the end, its just an educated guess. Don't be upset - there's scouts who go see these guys in person, study game tape, know what the kid did in high school and still end up making bad choices.
As for Scott...I know he studies game tape - but I could have sworn I saw him mention in one of his columns that he had some chances to look at coaches film, too. I could be wrong and I'm sure he'll come on and correct it.
I guess my point (and I do have one) in general for everyone is if the Bucs pick a guy you don't like...don't freak out about it. You never know how the guy is going to turn out and none of us really know what we're talking about - we're just making guesses on the little info we have.
