After sifting through the quotes around the web some interesting things shed some light on why the Bucs give players a second chance more then other clubs.

It comes down to some of the greatest players in franchise history getting second chances along with some coaches that were given second chances.

"It was no more than being in the wrong place at the wrong time," Brooks said. "I remember that when I was at FSU, I made a bad decision (in the Foot Locker scandal) and got suspended for a couple of games. I put it in my past and didn't repeat it. Some kids don't let the mistakes stop at one. Since that incident, Geno hasn't had any problems."

"I believe in giving a guy a second chance, but I don't know about a third, fourth or fifth," Kiffin said. "When I was a player in Nebraska, I got suspended from a bowl game and the head coach Bob Devaney gave me a second chance and invited me back my senior year. I played my senior year, and to make a long story short, he ended up hiring me as his coach as a graduate assistant and I worked my way up. Somebody gave me a chance and I'd like to do that for Geno. Hopefully he'll turn out good and do a really good job."

I am sure it is safe to say that maybe in Gruden and GM Bruce Allen were give a second chance in there respective careers thus, the feeling that they need to give some players a second chance.

In Football, RESPECT is never given freely by your opponent. It must be TAKEN from them...VIOLENTLY

Great players cost a lot of money but help win games. High-priced players - a byproduct of poorly run front offices with bad scouting departments - only cost a lot of money.

i dont think we give second chances more than other clubs.  its just that we all follow the bucs closely so this is the main team we are exposed to.   There are guys with character issues on every team, guys being given 2nd and third chances.

Well I can see why some people dont like it when the bucs bring in players with troubled past. Really though its not a big deal if they bring them in or not. Bruce Allen, Jon Gruden , and Monte Kiffen know how hard it is to find real talent in the nfl. Why not take a chance on some players who have the talent to make it but need work off the field. If they dont make it, fine they gave it a shot no harm done. If they do and the player turns his career around it should make everyone happy. So why complain about it or say you were right when it doesnt work out. Better than not trying at all.

Not telling your wife you view porn IS great character.  Imagine how guilty she'd feel if she found out she couldn't satisfy your needs as a man...

It's a sacrifice we make that doesn't get the appreciation it deserves...
