When does Bruce realize that he has to break the conception that he and Gruden are joined at the hip? Just think about it for a second if Gruden gets fired there is a good chance he may not get another NFL head coaching job for a while...he may go to a team and be an OC an OC doesnt bring in a GM. Also if Gruden decides that he wants to go the college route there isnt a GM position for a college.
Bruce IMO has to do his best to show that he is his own man next season. He has to think aout his job. As a GM cap wise you cannot ask for a better GM. However Jon's player selections have tainted his record a bit. However if Bruce takes the reigns and distances himself from Jon a bit it may go a long way in him being the GM if a new coaching regime arrives.
This will be an interesting offseason if Gruden is reatined another year....to see how the Allen/Gruden relationship turns out

what?
Gruden won't get fired so it's a moot point. Allen's been in this league a long time, longer than Gruden, so those that feel he and Gruden are joined at the hip are simply stupid. Just because Buc fans aren't used to a coach and GM working together on personel decisions doesn't mean it's wrong when it does happen. Sick of this garbage around here......
I am one that thinks that Gruden/Allen are not that close. They parted ways in Oakland....I however believe it is the perception of the majority of fans that they are. Whatever happens to Gruden I like Allen as our GM. I want to keep him here. It will interesting to see if Allen makes some moves next year without the advice of Gruden
