David Carr

People forget this, but Carr led the league in passer rating, with 100+ for the first 3 or 4 weeks of the season. Give him protection and a running attack and he could probably give us a Brees/Harrington type impact. We definitely have more weapons than the Texans. I'd take Carr over the rest of the garbage out there.

So we'll be getting the same David Carr that the Texans have, right?

Sounds like a perfect fit for what already ails this team: an inability to change the tide.

Carr is, to some extent, like Rob John. He takes a ton of sacks but not all of those sacksare about his OL. Don't get me wrong, that OL sucks rocks BUT Carr makes it look even worse. He's gonna tease you with a TON of physical talent but the mental game is really not there.

Every single time the game is at the most crucial Carr plays his worst! Kubiak runs the Denver offense that is not a WCO and Carr still refuses to throw the ball down the field and more than half the sacks he's taken this year are his fault.

I like D.Carr and would trade for him. However if Ski is the future then I bring in B.Favre for a year to start and to mentor Ski.

I heard that they might even release him.  He has a high cap number so there will be very few people that would take on his 8 million dollar salary.  Sorry, but if they dont keep Carr...they are releasing him.  We would get him for no trade...

His salary is very affordable for the next two seasons, IF the Texans wanted a trade there would be takers.

I would rather trade our late 2nd round pick and pay Carr that money, than have Simms back.

mjs...i agree simms didnt work out..we need another option.  I think a 2nd is a little too high for carr tho.

I mean if a 2nd is worth Culpepper...Id rather trade that later 2nd for Culpepper or Leftwich.


Im tellin ya if Carr isnt going to make it with the Texans...he wont be as hot as you think...Maybe turn out like Josh McCown or Tim Couch being a back-up, trying to prove himself.

i think we will draft JeMarcus Russell or Brady Quinn before we go and get Carr who isnt much better then Simms or Grads...IMO...

We are either going to get a VET or draft a rookie.  Carr is tech. a vet...but im talkin plummer, brunell, etc.

Our late 2nd round pick will is nearly a 3rd round pick.  Carr will have 60 NFL games under his belt and he is only 27, so he is the ideal mix of age and experience.  He consistently gains 15 ypg on the ground and his pass completion percentage is 69% this season.

If Gruden can't mould Carr into "his guy", then I doubt he will have much luck with anyone.

CArr would be a decent choice but nor our #1-- our 2 would be about right.

I'm still not sure why HOU dumps him. Even if they draft another QB they might as well keep Carr around and take his lumps instead of getting the new kid beaten to death. Carr has enough to be a Jake Plummer level player about him so you can tread water with him and HOU needs to get a lot of things to get better still.

 David Carr could possibly be a Franchise QB here. He has the talent, anyone who thinks otherwise can't see talent, and he's tough as nails. I've liked the guy since college. Give him coach who could give him a running game (aka NOT Gruden) and not stray from it and he would be a long ball threat to anyone. I still believe that Caddy is the real deal and that Gruden can be blamed for his sub par year.

imo carr is a victim of his team, he does make some bad mistakes, but thats not all him
