Beckles should shut up because

A. Because he sucks as a broadcaster

B. He wasn't even a good player for any of his ten years and folks where heplayed most of his days don't know who he was.

C. In all his years never played on a winning team- in large due to his lines poor play- funny he gets cut Bucs start winning-- he gets cut Eagles start winning - couldn't make NY or Denvers team in 99 and 00.

D. Knows players maybe-- has insight my azz-- do you listen to his show???

E. Knows the Buc Ord well. Since when is this organization anything like it was in 1996. The org. thought so much of him then they cut him

F. Knows more football..... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... tell that to his Pop Warner team... You would think with all that knowledge he could get over on some weekend Dad's coaching their kids... NOT

How much work did he do with them- afterall they were 14-0 until they met him. Not to mention isn't he the great figure head of broadcast radio you speak of that has been casting stones and insults for weeks-- great lesson he is teaching his kids that listen to his show...

The irony-- well now we know the true agenda here-- it was all about "Chucky" and when Mr Basher err Beckles gets called out Defensewins goes into defensive mode for his favorite sports shock jock. Beckles cares about Beckles and his ratings that are plummeting and thats why he has gone to shock jock mode calling out every sports org in this town. He flamed the Lightning today and flamed the Rays as well. People have tuned his Bucs flaming garbage out already and so he has to generate other callers. The only "**CENSORED**" around here is his selfish pompous losing azz.

Who cares what they say? It doesn't matter at all about anything. They are terrible, I listen to Keck mostly because Ron "the has-been dinosaur" Diaz talks about porn and strippers every chance he can.  I like to listen to sports radio but it gets embarassing ( to patients)  having to listen to that 1/2 the time.
Diaz is just the filler material, and these two often are clueless at times......"they went on a rant about the Draft of Gruden being so poor", and praised McKay and the Ruskell staff.  But if they would have done their homework, they would know that from 1999 to now there have been draft problems.  All of the 5-7th round rhetoric  for depth is non-sense. Karen, in reality their ratings are not that good considering the strenght of the signal.

More people listen to FM or 970 then sports talk in this town. Also if you listen and you probably do, most callers are the same ones and they also have plants out there to call in to try and stir up callers so they can get sponsers .

As Luke said with that signal strength their ratings are pretty piss poor. Not to mention they are about the only sports show in that time slot that has the signal strength to reach that many-- and the area has spoken and rather listen to 970 WFLA by a  landslide. Not to mention all the folks who just tune to FM on their dial and kill them by a landslide as well.

He can talk because he has a show?  Ummm...it should be the other way around, right?  He can talk, so he gets a show...unfortunately, not really the case for Beckles.

I think several of your points are debatable, but the central point I feel is pertinent is Beckles' level of class.  Look at all that which you mention.  It all applies to Scott Brantley, only unlike the WDAE hooligans, he actually DOES represent the Bay Area well.  He's a classy guy.

WDAE? Perhaps you don't know what the word "high" means. That means near the very top. According to my summer book, WDAE was the 12th ranked radio station in this market. Oh, but they did (just barely) beat out the all Spanish station, so that's something to hang their hats on.

What i can't understand is how those that claim to detest them so much know so much about their show?
