The media makes this out as if it is some major epidemic and kids need to be locked up in their rooms 24/7 to protect them.

While the FBI says that the kind of crimes have actually been on the decline for years. Kidnappings have been on the decline for years. It is just only recently the media has paid more attention to specific high profile cases. Most sex preditors also dont go after the kid next door. They usually go after the kid a few streets away or on the other side of town.

We also do not know the circumstances that lead to someone being put on one of these databases. A 19 year old that played around with a 17 year old for example is not a sex offender in my book. Yet the law would consider him one. So these databases I dont feel do much good.

The pictures give you a pretty good idea of the age of the offenders.

I just clicked on about 4-5 of them in my area. They were all dirty old men.

Noticed the majority of the cases in Tampa area involve children - I figure that they were children in the perp's family.  Just didn't know that there were so many pervs in the TB area - did notice Brandon seems somewhat clear. Didn't expect that to be the case. USF is also somewhat clear - thought there would be more there from the stories I've heard about.
