It is my opinion that Garcia will accept a new extension if he is offered one when all is said and done.  He and his wife like the area and I don't see him turning down an extension that gives him more guaranteed money through a signing bonus.  Sure an increase in base salary to reflect what other starting QB's generate may be appealing on the surface but it isn't guaranteed money which is what is most important.

Okay.  Grahams done.  Now its Garcia's turn.

I say he gets a 2 year extension.  And it looks a tad better than Grahams.  After all, he's the QB.  The MAN!

What do you think he'll get?

Not much with how he's acting. I bet he's forced to play out his contract.

Lady, if he wanted a longer deal, he should've negotiated it originally.... not 1 yr in.  The thought of extending a 38 yr old qb doesn't sit well with me.

I was thinking two years for 2 bottles of Viagra, a private investigator, a new nanny and handicapped parking passes

In Football, RESPECT is never given freely by your opponent. It must be TAKEN from them...VIOLENTLY

Great players cost a lot of money but help win games. High-priced players - a byproduct of poorly run front offices with bad scouting departments - only cost a lot of money.

I say a new deal is worked out for Garcia and I don't see the Bucs extending LM until they see more from him as a QB.

Probably a 2 year deal as Lady mentioned $4.5 mil per year with a $3 mil signing bonus.

The guy says he wants to be paid like his peers..... $4.5 won't do it.

When do you think JJ will be running the show ...2009 or 2010.

2009 is too early and if there is a need then the Bucs have to turn to McCown/Griese.  I say 2011 is when JJ can seriously compete for the starting spot.  If he could do it by 2010 I would be suprised though.

I'd like to know if the Bucs are seriously contemplating letting McCown or Greise have the reigns should negotiations with Garcia breakdown.

It's been reported that the trade for Greise was to safeguard against an injury but it might also have had the effect of subtly warning Garcia not to overplay his hand and do anything rash.

Now I could care less about his age...but at 40, I think we might be seeing some changes happen to his body.  The bad kind...

Let him walk.  I could care less at this point.  The guy is blessed, and has a good team in front of him, and all he is worried about is how many MORE 500SLs he can park in his driveway.  Screw that.

Win a Superbowl, and go out in real style.

Garcia will be the starter this year. There is no doubt about it.
