Oh and BTW - I am a life long fully paid up conservative.

Which is why you probably don't like what Bush has done...

Its a shame most people don't even know what "conservative" means.

Or progressive, for that matter...

I would be one to say that not everything that Bush has done, have I agreed to blindly.  In fact, this is not the Republican party that I've voted for.  The Republicans have SOLD themselves as the more fiscally responsible, when truth be told, they have been far from it.  Reality is both parties have shown nothing in the way of any real solution to this country.  Sure there is definitely a need for change, but not in an Obama-esque, rock star approach, or "change my mind when I want" approach.

It starts with the President, sure, but last time I checked this also is not a totalitarian gov't (atleast that is not what we define or label ourselves to be, or pretend not to be).  This gov't was setup from the ground up to not have one particular person rule over everything.  Sure the President is the executive, but even his stances can be overruled by votes from the senate and congress.

Republicans 2004: got elected on the premise that they were going to get spending under control, etc.  Look what it netted them, losing the house and senate in 2006.

Democrats 2006: got elected on the premise that they were going to get the gas prices under control, end the war in Iraq, etc. Look what it has netted them since?  Are gas prices under control? No, worse aren't they, why isn't more alternative energy policy being enacted?  Check this opinion in the LA Times, Give Exxon a break.  While we are seeing this, doesn't it make some wonder where exactly are those taxes going to in our gov't?  Also ask this question too, why is it that Pelosi and co. are out on hiatus when we are currently still in the midst of such problems with the economy, energy, housing, etc?  Sounds to me that BOTH parties seem incapable of doing much in the way of solving any problems.

As MJS pointed out, the spending moreover the borrowing is what has killed us, especially when we haven't been paying back those debts either.  But inspite of that I don't think that the tax cuts should simply go away either, if (and this is a big IF) they cut out the spending and actually.

Thank the Lord and he's done plenty of impeachable offences. And take that Darth Cheney with you. The funniest thing is it was written as if Bush is intelligent and actually knows what's going on in the world! Hilarious!
you are clueless, and you cant be president if your not intelligent.
YOU are clueless and yes you can. What do you think all those neocons were doing getting him elected? When he actually tries to talk he is embarrassing and sounds like an idiot.

Obama, when he doesn't have his speech writers giving him his material, also struggles with speaking in the form of "ums, uhs, ands" over and over.

Quote
...this would be his speech:

Normally, I start these things out by saying "My Fellow Americans." Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don't know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has happened, and that you're really not fellow Americans any longer.

I'll cut right to the chase here: I quit.

Now before anyone gets all in a lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution or something, let me assure you: There's been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office.

The reason I'm quitting is simple. I'm fed up with you people. I'm fed up because you have no understanding of what's really going on in the world. Or of what's going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.

Let's start local. You've been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media. Polls show that the majority of you think the economy is in the tank. And that's despite record numbers of homeowners, including record numbers of MINORITY homeowners. And while we're mentioning minorities, I'll point out that minority business ownership is at an all-time high. Our unemployment rate is as low as it ever was during the Clinton administration. I've mentioned all those things before, but it doesn't seem to have sunk in.

Despite the shock to our economy of 9/11, the stock market has rebounded to record levels and more Americans than ever are participating in these markets. Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there's increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security.

We face real threats in the world. Don't give me this "blood for oil" thing. If I were trading blood for oil I would've already seized Iraq's oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don't give me this 'Bush Lied; People Died' crap either. If I were the liar you morons take me for, I could've easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be 'discovered.' Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty.

Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was official US policy before I came into office. Some guy named 'Clinton' established that policy. Bet you didn't know that, did you?

You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to out spend and out-tech them.

That's not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don't care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That'd be fine, as long as they weren't also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are. They want to kill you, and the bastards are all over the globe.

You should be grateful that they haven't gotten any more of us here in the United States since September 11. But you're not. That's because you've got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law enforcement, and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that. When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight. I'm disappointed how many of you people think a long and difficult fight amounts to a single season of 'Survivor.'

Instead, you've grown impatient. You're incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.

Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy. Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat's political campaign, well, dang it, you might just as well FedEx a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing.

In this day and age, it's easy enough to find the truth. It's all over the Internet. It just isn't on the pages of the New York Times or on NBC News. But even if it were, I doubt you'd be any smarter. Most of you would rather watch American Idol.

I could say more about your expectations that the government will always be there to bail you out, even if you're too stupid to leave a city that's below sea level and has a hurricane approaching

I could say more about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I've come to the conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over your heads.

So I quit. I'm going back to Crawford. I've got an energy-efficient house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully self-sufficient.

No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and as soon as I'm done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of America fall.

Oh, and by the way, Cheney's quitting too. That means Pelosi is your new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there are just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008.

So that's it. God bless what's left of America. Some of you know what I mean.

My god I leave, gas killed me. I come back gas is doubled. Something went wrong, and leadership was obviously nonexistent to get us to where were at. The downhill of a country cannot be blamed on one person, and it would be ignorant to justify that view, but its undeniable a president owns the highest influence.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year-old Texas rancher whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President.

The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a 'post turtle.'

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was.

The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain. 'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumbass put him up there in the first place

and my response to Mr. Bush's resignation speech:

Mr. Bush, you ran for President as a Conservative Republican, but in your terms as PotUS the National Debt has risen from $5.7 trillion to $9.5 trillion, and the Federal Deficit had nearly tripled.  What happened to your pledge of "less government"?  What happened to your promise of "fiscal rationality", a term you invented? What happened to less government and support for the small businessman?  yes, you stood on a podium and told the American people you would bring about more opportunities for small business but all we have seen is your support for Big oil and Walmart/massive business.

You stood on that podium and told us about Alternative Energy plans for fuel cell tech, electric cars, etc, but all we have seen is incentives and support for Haliburton and other "old tech" big oil companies.

You were caught unawares in the 9/11 events, as were we all, but you promised us resolve, you promised us retribution, but instead we got a half a$$ed response to the true terror hotbed, Afghanistan.  And instead of justice we got a war of vendetta that only you had a issue with.  The one mid-east country most watched and most cornered, that certainly could not have had any part of the events of 9/11, is the one you choose to make an example out of???  That is kind of like the logic of beating your neighbors kid for something some other kid did.

And throughout this international clusterfilck you created, you somehow managed to totally ignore what was going on in your own backyard.

After brilliant and faithful service for nearly 2 decades, your Fed Reserve Chairman, after getting married and getting hooked on viagra and cialis, goes bonkers and starts making irrational decisions, and you ignore it.

Then your Attorney General gets involved in a nasty hiring faux pax and he gets Alzhiemers and can't rememner his own birthday, and you ignore it.

Your Sec of Defense tells the whole world (including our troops) that armor is unimportant, "you go to war with the army you have got".  in other words "dying soldiers, suck it up, I don't care." And you ignored it.

Mr. President, you have treated this job like some chore your daddy gave you, and you are suprised we, the American People, are upset with you!

Who the hell did you think you worked for, Haliburton?  Yes, we are upset.  You have broken every promise, and made us a laughing stock in the worlds eyes, what do you expect?  You have collected every paycheck, but you have yet to finish one single job you promised to complete.

Now you quit before the job is done, and try to put the blame on us.  Mr. President, keep your blame because WE THE PEOPLE were not given any power or authority to change anything.  We gave all of that to you, and you have failed us utterly.  Please do quit for it will save us the trouble of firing you.

I wish you the best in your future endeavors, but do not use us, the American People, as references for future jobs because your performance was not acceptable.
