Has a team ever been unranked and gone on to win the MNC?

That would be kind of tough considering the whole BCS thing.

Thank god for no playoff system.

Every game is a playoff. The OSU vs USC game is going to be great, but with a playoff system it would just be chest pumping game with no importance to it.
