Packers might wanna rethink Favre

right now on NFL network the Packers are having a fundraiser game/scrimmage the QB's aren't looking to good.
also, Aaron Rogers was playing the second defence

One thing is for sure...I bet Rodgers wants to kill Favre. What does the kid need to do to get a break? He'll be demanding a trade at the end of the year.

I don't normally wish ill on players but..may Brett Favre have a season ending injury and Aaron Rodgers get that job I'd be ecstatic.

After the way the Pukers and Favre have handled themselves, I wish them nothing but the worst.

AR is clearly the underdog, and I for one, hope he gets to start this season. Brett didn't want it, The Pack was shunning him anyway, and the guy has done nothing to hurt the franchise quite like Favre has. If the Pack are serious about starting AR, good for them. It's time to move on, like 2 years ago. With AR starting, they would actually have a QB that WANTS to show up every year, and a guy that "could" be good, if given the chance. In The last four years, Simms has had more starts. The Pack would do well to honor loyalty on they're team, and the best way to do it, would be to let AR play.

I don't deslike Brett or anything, I just personally wouldn't want a guy who "might" show up next year. They could have avoided this situation several ways, and IMO it IS they're fault, not Favres. Both were greedy, but the Packs FO should've known better than to sign a longer contract with an aging "maybe"-type QB. Now, they just have to deal with his antics, while trying to fend off the media (like any-other player).

Imo also... One of these days Goodell is going to stop this "whiner-baby routine" when renegotiating contracts or playing time, if players keep it up. It's never a good example of the NFL when your players are acting up for more money,playing time, etc. I think that would actually have more of an impact on our college/HS players, so we could expect it even more often in the future if it's not dealt with eventually. There HAS to be a more respectable way when dealing with these situations.

Favre recently told Greta on FOX news that he wont accept a backup role.

    In the event the Packers choose to start Rodgers, how will Favre's "won't accept a backup role" comment be translated into action? Will he re-retire? sit and whine? Demand a trade (again)? Looks to me he's trying to put himself above the team and the whole NFL...

Brett Favre's Packers career appears exactly as it has over the last several months, at best in limbo, at worst over. After hours of meetings and few if any details emerging, it now seems less and less likely that Favre will be back on the playing field for the Packers, FOXSports.com has learned.

The two sides are expected to meet again in the morning as they try to work toward a solution palatable to both sides. However, one detail FOXSports.com gathered from the meeting was Favre's insistence that he did not want his presence to destroy the team's chemistry. In fact, Favre was adamant that he wanted to do what was in the best interest of the locker room and admitted this distraction was not what his teammates needed.

Another agreement from the meeting was that, despite reports to the contrary, there would not be an open quarterback competition as even Favre felt this would not be in the best interests of the locker room. Thus, Aaron Rodgers is the team's starting quarterback.

As Favre met with head coach Mike McCarthy and GM Ted Thompson late Monday, the sides were moving toward an agreement to end this circus, but uncertainty remained about what that agreement ultimately will be.

Favre and the team continued to hold the same viewpoints they've held for weeks but rather than continuing their stalemate, they have joined in pursuit of a mutually agreeable solution. Whether that solution will entail a trade, a release or another option was not determined in the meeting.

Favre, however, stood to his long-standing desire to stay within the division. But the Packers were still hoping to find another option.

Favre now has to truly decide if he wants to play football for one of the two teams that have shown interest � the Jets and the Bucs � or continue to push for a solution that does not appear to be viable to the Packers.

The two sides aired grievances and actually had amicable talks. In fact, McCarthy and Favre met for so long the coach was unable to attend his scheduled team meeting and chose to cancel his press conference rather than address the media before having an opportunity to meet with his players.

Thompson and Favre then met at about 11 p.m. local time as the two tried to come to determine what their next step would be.

While they did not find an answer to a situation that has become stressful to all involved, at least all parties now appear to agree that this situation must soon come to a workable conclusion.

Rogers went 7/20, 82 yds , 1 INT with 0 TD's  against there SECOND defence most of the time.

Rogers is a FA at the end of the year. If the Packers dont give him a shot at starting, i doubt he will come back
