But haven't you heard, guys?  Simms is the best QB we have!   ::)
I don;t see a problem with that comment, it might be true if we ran a totally different system to the one Gruden uses.
If we switch to a team that hands the ball off 45-50 times a game and lobs it deep 6 or 7 times on the 10 passes they do attempt and he would be the best QB we have.
But then we don't have the guys on the outside for that unless we get some ACME rocket boots for the WRs.

Yeah, and I could say that if I only had large muscles and a smaller nose, I'd be a chick magnet.  Still there are some ugly dudes out there with hot girlfriends.  They are just better than I am at playing the game...no matter the circumstances.  If Simms is as great as you say he is, blaming the system is a huge cop-out.

Maybe they are going to surgically mix and match parts between them and try to build a bionic QB.

That's funny, I got flamed on here when I said both of those guys would get looks before a team traded for Simms if a QB went down

Neither will see the regular season as a Steeler unless Ben is hurt. They would be decent backups to have, though.

Culpepper and Leftwich represent the last 2 decent street FA QB's. Now the only decent QB's are gonna be trade bait or late TC cuts.

If you think they are "decent" street FA's then Aaron Brooks must mean there is at least one more left, sure Brooks sucks but so do Leftwich & Celpepper.

I'd rather try talking Joe Nameth into returning at 127 years old than sign either of them.

That's why you're sitting at home and not running a NFL franchise. Both Culpepper and Leftwich have started and won games. Brooks last played in 2006 and had 3 Td's and 8 Ints.

Brooks has started and won games so there's that theory out the window.

Leftwich benefited from a good D in Jacksonville when he was winning (5-11 record when their D struggled) and Culpepper has done nothing good without Moss (5-12 record & 11 Tds 20 INTs).

Brooks might be a clown but he is the equal of those 2 chumps.

They would both be suitable back ups. I cannot believe that they are not already on someones roster. Especially when Gradowski is still in the league.

No, Brooks is not the equal of Culpepper or Leftwich. Numbers and employment prove it.
