There is no baseball in this years Olympics.� �;) �Actually basketball may get removed soon because only twelve teams entered.

Or it might have something to do with basketball is amateur in most countries, and a pretty low level sport.  The Olympics rotates sports in and out, especially when new demonstration sports come in.  Basketball should survive because it gets good viewing numbers ,and the IOC are all about exposure.

Anyone watched the boxing? That sport is so competitive these days. Once upon a time the Brits and Americans did well in most weights. Now the only country with a few guys in the final 16 of each weight is Cuba, and they don't count because they should be professionals.
