If the Bucs keep JJ as the 4th QB somebody isn't making it.

UPDATED: after 3 games

QB(3): Jeff Garcia, Brian Griese, Luke McCown
RB(3): Earnest Graham, Warrick Dunn, Michael Bennett
FB(2): BJ Askew, Byron Storer
WR(5): Joey Galloway, Antonio Bryant, Ike Hiliard, Dexter Jackson, Maurice Stovall
TE(4): Alex Smith, Jon Gilmore, Ben Troupe Jerramy Stevens
T(4): Jeremy Trueblood, Donald Penn, Dennis Roland, Anthony Davis
G/C(5): Arron Sears, Davin Joseph, Jeff Faine, Jeremy Zuttah, Dan Buenning
ST(3): Matt Bryant, Josh Bidwell, Andrew Economos

-It's become quite clear to me that Josh Johnson will be practice squad material and that Simms will be off the team.  I think Clifton Smith certainly is worthly of a roster spot and we could see him bounce up and down the roster sort of like Ken Darby was last year.  I think it will be tough but one of our WRs is gone and I now believe it's between Hilliard and Clayton.  At TE, I don't think Troupe has done enough at all to prove worthy of a roster spot but think the only reason he makes it is due to Stevens suspension.  Once that suspension is up, I could def. see Troupe being released and then maybe we see Clifton Smith back on the roster.

DE(5): Gaines Adams, Kevin Carter, Greg White, Jimmy Wilkerson, Marques Douglas
DT(4): Jovan Haye, Chris Hovan, Ryan Sims, Dre Moore
LB(7): Derrick Brooks, Barrett Ruud, Cato June, Quincy Black, Matt McCoy, Geno Hayes, Adam Hayward
CB(5): Ronde Barber, Phillip Bucchanon, Aqib Talib, Eugene Wilson, Elbert Mack
S(3): Jermaine Phillips, Tanard Jackson, Sabby Piscitelli

-Only change I made was Elbert Mack over Sammy Davis.  I think Mack is severly outplaying him and we may go with the inexperienced guy over Sammy Davis.

What are your thoughts after seeing some pre-season action of who makes the team and who doesn’t?

Looks good to me... except...

I think we bring in another vet (LT?) before the trade deadline.

Stovall makes it over Hilliard.

Smith, Mack, Bradwell, WR and Johnson on the PS.

I'm not sure both Douglas and Carter make it.  I'd like to see Mack over Davis.

Brandentonian- Carter has been starting so I think he makes it.  As for Douglas, he just signed a 4 year deal with us I thought.  Plus you can never have too many DEs as the Giants showed last year.  We need fresh legs and Douglas can provide that and he didn’t look too bad Sunday night.  But I don’t mind your line of thinking as long as keep another DE in his place.  A 4th string TE or QB isn’t going to put more pressure on the QB.  Hey, come to think of it…Kevin Carter was TE for McCown’s TD to Strorer.

+ Stovall makes it over either Clayton or Spurlock.
+ Johnson WILL be on the 53-man squad
+ No Storer
+ Caddy will be IR'd

Stovall is a far more valuable special teams player than Clayton.

I like what you have there but let me amend a few positions:

QB(3): Jeff Garcia, Brian Griese, Luke McCown
RB(3): Earnest Graham, Warrick Dunn, Michael Bennett
FB(2): BJ Askew, Byron Storer
WR(5): Joey Galloway, Antonio Bryant, Ike Hiliard(or Maurice Stovall), Dexter Jackson, Michael Clayton
TE(3): Alex Smith, Jon Gilmore, Jerramy Stevens
T(4): Jeremy Trueblood, Donald Penn, Dennis Roland, Anthony Davis(or Vet LT)
G/C(5): Arron Sears, Davin Joseph, Jeff Faine, Jeremy Zuttah, Dan Buenning
ST(4): Matt Bryant, Josh Bidwell, Clifton Smith, Andrew Economos

DE(5): Gaines Adams, Kevin Carter, Greg White, Jimmy Wilkerson, Marques Douglas
DT(4): Jovan Haye, Chris Hovan, Ryan Sims, Dre Moore
LB(6): Derrick Brooks, Barrett Ruud, Cato June, Quincy Black, Matt McCoy(or Adam Hayward), Geno Hayes
CB(5): Ronde Barber, Phillip Bucchanon, Aqib Talib, Eugene Wilson, Elbert Mack
S(4): Jermaine Phillips, Tanard Jackson, Sabby Piscitelli, Donte Nicholson

About my changes:

I think Hilliard/Clayton/Stovall are all on the bubble, best two keep their jobs and I haven't really seen much that seperates them right now. I don't think Clifton Smith would clear waivers and he's a better returner than Spurlock, Dexter Jackson will be our PR and secondary KR. The team is really high on Geno Hayes, but I don't see them keeping 7 LBs, either he hits the PS or the team chooses between McCoy and Hayward. This frees up a spot to keep Donte Nicholson, I'd rather have 4 safties considering the odds of injury at the position that we've suffered almost every year. Lastly, according to sources when Raheem Morris went to scout Leodis McKelvin at Troy he was over heard asking "who's that guy" while watching Elbert Mack run thru drills. I think Mack sticks for the same reason Clifton does, they've played too well to clear waivers. Besides, Sammy Davis has not shown us a thing.

I think Stovall's job is safe as he is the best special teamer of the bunch.  Whomever loses to secure the #2/3 position on the depth chart (Clayton or Hilliard) seem to be toast though.

I think Stovall and Clayton will both make it and the Bucs will be forced to keep Storer due to the bad ankles of Askew.

Yeah given Askew hasn't been healthy lately Storer seems like he is making the team.

LOL at Badabing

Stovall is 23 and he was one of the top special teams players in the league last year.

Without Torrie I doubt the Bucs would part ways with Stovall but you never know.

I'm really not sure why anyone thinks Storer was not going to make the team no matter the health of Askew.

Happy and Peppy and Bursting with love.
