Depending on the size of the SB, it also gives us the option to trade him if we work out another alternative in the offseason

ATW, you are right. Gru and Allen must be staying if they are allowed to make deal like this.

I was not in favor of signing Simms to a long term deal. But two years? I am all for this. Plus,
we can still go after Garcia. I just hope if Simms wins a starting job, Gru adjusts for his
style. Shotgun needs to be implemented and batted balls stopped.

Yeah I can still see the Bucs pursuing Garcia even IF Simms is signed.

We could still bring in Garcia as a backup. But that doesnt seem likly because the way he is playing this year. He might want to go and start somewhere next season. But id he still wants to we can get him as a back-up..

He can start here and Chris can be the back-up. I doubt Gru or Allen are promising
a starting job to Chris. Garcia can come in and win the job. And if he doesn't, that
means Chris has progressed a lot. Win, win.

I think we will lose out on Garcia if we sign Simms.  Garcia wants to start, if he is willing to play back-up, he can stay in Philly...

Someone enlighten me why signing simms won't mean the end of the garcia talks?

if Garcia has to WIN a job, he will go elsewhere, imo.

Garcia wants to START, signing Simms will all but assure that Garcia goes elsewhere imo...

Garcia wants to start, if a team offers him the job, he will bolt Philly, rightfully so, he will always be behind McNugget in Philly.

Eagles may keep Garcia. But he has a better chance of starting here over Simms than he
does over McNabb. Will he want to compete for a job or will he want to start on a
crappy team? Of course, we could be a crappy team but I hope he sees the promise
from our great draft (hoping) and other FA acquisitions.
