Why is it that the DE play has changed so drastically in the past 2 seasons especially? Rice and Spires both seem to be dancing with their tackles and never bull rush anymore trying to take their guy into the pocket with them. Them seem to burst up field and try to get around them dancing all the way and playing patty cake. Booger is doing the same. It seems the only guy still getting nasty is Hovan and he is bull rushing. White seems to bull his way in there as well instead of trying to beat his guy around the outside. Even our LB's on blitzes are doing the same. Did the philosophy change? It seems the cut backs for big gains and the lack of pressure is because guys are spending too much time trying to beat their defender and coming out of theirn lanes instead of just flat out pushing them back and then shedding the block when they have them off balance.

The teams I see having success are the ones just bowling the OL's and collapsing pockets.

Maybe we need to get back to stop worrying about the sack and just disrupt the pocket and good things will come while the QB dances or the backs dance trying to find the open lane or hole.

Anyone else seeing this trend???

Spires was never a rushing kinda guy.  Sim was always a speed guy.  And Booger just sucks.
