While some say it is a waste of time and space to keep four QB's when the first three are starters and veterans that have started and won in the NFL is an easy one when you consider only Griese out of the three veterans is under contract after the 2008 season. Which should Garcia not prove he can remain healthy or produce along with McCown showing that he has taken the next step would leave the team in a  huge bind heading into the off-season. Keeping Johnson on the roster gives the team a another player that has upside and doesnt leave the cupboard bare heading into 2009

Keeping 4 QBs doesn't make a lot of sense

Not sure, but it makes long term sense to keep four to me.

according to Pewterreport...we kept Josh on the 53 man roster...

I think it's ok for now...but as the season wears on, like 3-4 weeks into the season, we could see him on the P.S....i dont know....wonder who got cut to make room for him?  We can't keep 6 WRs, 4 TEs AND 4 QBs without being really thin elsewhere..

It makes sense from a roster structure perspective because only Griese is signed beyond this year.  Other than that no it doesn't make sense. 8)

The easy solution would be to keep three safeties and five CB with Wilson being able to play both

Yuccaneers..that is probably what they are going to do with Will Allen being the odd man out...but still makes me feel uncomfortable since Sabby is hurt...so we are one injury away from seeing Wilson starting at safety and only having 4 CBs...

Yes. PewterReport.com is reporting that the Bucs will keep four QBs, including Josh Johnson.

I agree I think one QB will be gone when Stevens returns

None, zilch!!

I think its quite the indictment of our uncertainty at the starting qb position.

I don't think that is the reason at all. Even though I don't think the same, it appears that the Bucs feel the need to sneak Johnson on the PS. Stephens' suspension allows them to keep him on the roster for the start of the season. When they do waive Johnson when Stephen's returns, most if not all the rest of the teams will be set at QB.

Personally, I don't think he did anything that would make another team sign him, but I've been wrong in the past so I'll leave this one to the guys who get paid to make the tough choices. LOL!
