The Bucs might be short a couple of receivers when the season opens. The team expects to have Joey Galloway back by then but Antonio Bryant (knee) and Michael Clayton (chest bruise) could be held out of the opener. The team has a week to get Bryant and Clayton healthy but that may not be enough. Bryant has missed two straight weeks of workouts and games and Clayton missed all of last week with his bruised chest. If neither can go the Bucs will likely lean on Ike Hilliard and Maurice Stovall. The team may also work second-round draft pick Dexter Jackson into the rotation. Jackson got a lot of work in the team's preseason finale and fared well, running routes mostly outside the numbers. He also had a 14-yard gain an end-around run.

if so Anthony Bryant really screwed himself with that injury.....


he had that game against New England in which we all thought hey...we may have found ourselves our #2.  But 2 straight weeks without playing and now maybe missing the opener and that competition is surely open again, especially if say Stovall catches 5 balls for 70 yards...

I hope like heck that Bryant plays. I haven't seen anything outside of Cummings drivel that says he won't.

agreed.  while galloway has free reign with milking his injuries Clayton should be on a short leash.  unless "chest bruise" is code for "broken ribs", Mike better play this week.
