I am not a Gruden hater or a Gruden basher. However, I would like to say that frankly I am sick of his slow moving, short passing, no running offense. I am sick of his makeshift players. We need a new coach, we need to get young on offense and install some sort of vertical game. A spread offense would be nice. Young, playmakers. No team fears us, it's like Michael Strahan said on the fox pregame show, "we were never worried about Tampa, they were the only ones we knew for sure we would beat."

Spread offenses haven't historically had a lot of success in the NFL. The Patriots scored a lot of points last year running a modified spread, but it hurt their running game lining up in the shotgun so much and it exposed Brady to a lot of hits passing the ball so much. For many, many years the keys to good offense in the NFL has been: 1.) power running between the tackles, 2.) pass protection that can give the quarterback time to get to his 3rd or even 4th option, 3.) multiple receivers who can get open, and 4.) a quarterback that can hit his receivers in stride. That's it.

All we really need to do is flip flop from 70 pass/30 run to 70 run/30 pass and we'd be set.

Not every team needs a gunslinger and a pair of receivers with 1k yards.

I'd rather have a scary defense than offense.

But you at least need an offense that's respectable. I noticed several plays on Sunday when Bucs had 3 or 4 eligible receivers - all sitting within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. That's just making life too easy for a defense.

It might still work if the QB could pass and the receivers could catch.

Wow. Did Strahan really say that?

Well, to be fair, the Giants were the only team Bucs fans knew WE would beat.
