Terdell Sands is a big defensive tackle for the oakland raiders and his contract expires after this season. He plays UT and doesnt even start for oakland but has still managed to rack up 40 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 interception this season which is almost more tackles then Wimms and Haye combined. Would any of you be interested in signing him? I think he is worth a look.

These are the kind of guys I want to see.  Not guys who are over priced super stars that we will need to get into a bidding war over.  But then again, it will require some pretty good talent evaluation to determine which of these obscure players to choose.

I identified Sands as a player with potential for the Bucs weeks ago. He's definitely at least worth looking at.

Colin Jenkins, DT for the Packers would be a nice fit here in Tampa.

All I know is that Sands has a terrible rating in Madden '06.  He must know something we don't.

Sunnyd you are correct, they would be nuts to let him go and it is probably wishful thinking. Is he a RFA or UFA?

Sands is a big monster DT that stops the run, he would not be an ideal fit to rush the passer IMHO. He is too big, slow of foot and lacks the explosion.

Terrell Sands plays the NT spot for the Raiders. I can't believe you guys could possibly forget who plays UT for the Raiders.

according to local radio, they will not let him go and is high on their priority list in the off season.

He might be a very nice low cost addition in FA.  Cheap enough to be a back up but with the ability to start with the right coaching.

Why not?  We need all the help we can get on both lines.  I wouldn't mind seeing Justin Smith here also.

because the last time we tried to overhaul an entire unit - be it the DB's, LB's, DL or OL was the 2004 offensive line. 5 new starters - and they would make our current group look like Pro-Bowlers.

Apparently Rod Coleman is a UFA as well. He would be WELL worth pursuing, although he would get an astronomical contract from someone.
