Does anyone else think it funny to hear a guy like Hagel make a case that PALIN isn't qualified to Vice President? I think if you'd check the time in office for the HEAD of the Democrat ticket to the time in office of the NUMBER TWO spot of the Republican ticket - you'd see a very interesting correlation.
Only, last time I checked - you're suppsed to compare number ones vs number ones...I guess we make that allowance when Obama doesn't exactly compare favorably to McCain's experience...
Besides, Obama has no shot at this. When you have an economic downturn you don't ADD universal healthcare, universal college education and universal increase in minimum wage - without that tax increase Obama has often discussed - and in order to pay for his programs ANYONE under 100K per year better start reaching for his wallet...because you got
rich overnight (even if you still have too much month left at the end of your paycheck).
Doesn't matter how you frame it - the number two on the Democrat ticket stuck his foot in his mouth and proved to ALL Americans what their plans are when he informed a crowd that it was their
patriotic duty to pay (intent = higher) taxes...I mean after Obama's struggle to come to terms with patriotism, don't you find it odd that they'd pick that line?
No, I don't think America
really thinks "Fiscal Responsibility" when they think Democrat party. I think when anyone says "democrat party" they HEAR "
Keg Party" party"...Eat drink and be merry - somebody else is paying...!"
McCain called the current economic problem - BACK IN 2005!!
Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Act of 2005. THE DEMOCRATS KILLED THE BILL IN COMMITTEE. The number two LARGEST recipient of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lobby money was SENATOR BARAK OBAMA. When the bill was introduced (ironically by Chuck Hagel, with co-sponsorship by John McCain, Elizabeth Dole and John Sunnunu) he stated the problems we would face if these entities were left to run amok the way they had been functioning.
Turns out - like the surge - McCain was right.
That's what American's trust - a straight shooter. Not one that speaks of hope and change wihtout any definitive course of action.
Having no substance is why democrats can't gain the national office, having substance that isn't all together pretty - but understood and agreed to by the American people - is why McCain/Palin will be elected.
There may not be any further tax cuts - but you can BET there will be trimming of budget programs. Once items like social security and welfare were considered untouchable - not so after this crisis. Trust me, the Democrats know what's in store for the next President - while they may make a public show - they don't want any part of making constituents mad by trimming the untouchables.
..think it over, you'll probably agree.
