We are Nazi Germany. What are you trying to say? Who conquers countries, installs puppet governments, tortures resistance fighters, and spies on their own people? Oh yeah, that us.

Could be the most ignorant, immature statement on a board filled with ignorant, immature statements

KM, you might want to check this out. Interesting read about Nazism and how it was never eradicated.

Are we seeing "The Rise of the Fourth Reich" here in the US?

The facts that KM stated are true. But we're not the Nazi's.......yet. I hate the fact that we're moving in that direction though.

When Americans think that we're completely right and other countries of the world are wrong because they don't agree with our POV, that's ignorant and obtuse.

That is how the Nazi's got started. One side took the "we're right and you're wrong" approach and it took the rest of the world to stop them.

Let's all hope that we get some common sense before it's too late.

We haven't carried out policies as far as Nazi Germany did, but we are still carrying out the same policies. They put Jews in camps without trial. We put suspected terrorists in camps without trial. Our civilian collateral damage is past 10% of what they did already.

I would vote Ron Paul for sure if he even had a marginal chance of winning an election. He wants to pull all US troops back to the US where they belong.

Dude your a decent guy but come on.
Question....were the jews fighting on the battle field?
Well there goes your theory!
Your numbers are all wrong and you tin foil hat is to tight!

You guys know I'm interested in the 911 conspiracy stuff. Some of the folks who have studied that feel that
the secret cabal that was behind that is the alleged Nazi-like group that runs things now. It was the modern
version of The Reichstag Fire...

Check out this comic from June of 1983...

Interesting coincidence...

Apparently, that scene is from:

MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE #100

The guy who found it has written this article on 911 coincidences. Some of them are weak but some
of them make you go, Hmmmm...

I didnt get to seea the whole interview as I am not at home, but I did see that question, and it was as I recall... (paraphrasing)

"If Georgia was a member of NATO and Russia attacked them, would you support sending American Combat troops".

Any idiot with a mite of common sense knows the answer to that one is yes, otherwise whats the point in having alliances? Unfortunately there aren't many countries willing to sign up to defense treaties with America where America only gets involved if America is attacked. It's kinda pointless!

With all due respect, the direction in which this thread was pointed is either total spin or total ignorance.

Someone needs to read the NATO charter: "An attack on one is an attack on all"

Palin is right. If Georgia and Ukraine are members of the NATO alliance and Putin decides to invade, then we have an obligation to help defend our allies.

Now if Obama is elected and Russia starts invading NATO allies and Obama does nothing....then NATO is dead. And we will have just stabbed our allies in Europe in the back. Those countries will never help us again on anything and our status around the world will surely be destroyed.

So this is a question I want the media to ask Obama. What would he do if Russia attacks a NATO ally?

Remember, NATO worked during the Cold War because we convinced the Russians that if they attack a NATO country, we launch our nukes. They didnt call our bluff on that one. If we have a weak president who refuses to lay down the threat....then Russia will call our bluff.

Don't be silly.  We can chose whether to honor our treaties, they're only there for our convenience.  Nobody will mind if we break 'em...

This thread is beyond sickening....  Honestly, I'm really start to question some of the sanity on this board.

Some here show themselves so absolutely clueless about history it's not even funny.

The whole reason NATO was created was to create an alliance to help each other in the event  of war.  After the Soviet Blockade of Berlin 1948 the allies saw a need to counter balance the Russian influence.

From Wiki: The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO); French: Organisation du Traité de l'Atlantique Nord (OTAN); (also called the North Atlantic Alliance, the Atlantic Alliance, or the Western Alliance) is a military alliance established by the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty on 4 April 1949. The NATO headquarters are in Brussels, Belgium, [3] and the organization constitutes a system of collective defence whereby its member states agree to mutual defence in response to an attack by any external party.

Now, if Russia attacks any country of NATO we have World War 3 on our hand.  Which is the same policy the United States has had since about - oh, 1948 or so...

Palin was asked about the Ukraine and Georgia joining NATO and a hypothetical what would happen IF someone attacks then.  So there is NOTHING new in the headline since again this has been policy since 1948 or so...

Regarding Georgia and South Ossetia.  South Ossetia is PART of Georgia.  It's as much a state of Georgia as Texas is of the United States.  Some people in South Ossetia want  to breakaway from Georgia and create their OWN country (Which is a entirely separate issue).  Much like Texas could secede from the Union.   Now, Georgia believes in the integrity of their borders which INCLUDES South Ossetia.  The Russians wanted to have a show of strength and backed the South Ossetian in this.  Kind of like Mexico coming and fighting on behalf of the Texans.  So when the Georgians wanted to show strength and assert themselves within their borders the Russians came in kicked ass and basically bullied everyone around.

Putin over the last 10 years has totally rebuild the Russian military and they are now a formidable fighting unit again (Thanks to Gas/Oil Prices).

Now comparing this country to Nazi Germany is so ridiculous it's not worth commenting...

http://www.usnews.com/usnews/politics/bulletin/bulletin_080912.htm

Another theme in the media today is Palin's tough foreign policy positions. The Wall Street Journal reports Palin said Georgia and Ukraine "should be admitted to NATO and that the U.S. should be prepared to go to war if Russia invades Georgia again." The Washington Post says Palin's remarks "were strikingly devoid of the diplomatic language generally used by U.S. officials when discussing relations with Russia." The New York Daily News reports that Palin's remarks on Russia "went further than" McCain's. USA Today says Palin "endorsed the right of U.S. troops to chase terror suspects from Afghanistan into Pakistan, even without the approval of that government." Sen. Barack Obama holds a similar view, which McCain once called 'naive.'" ABC News reported on its website that Palin "said that she believed a nuclear Iran presented a threat to 'everyone in the world' and that if Israel's existence was threatened by those weapons it had a right to defend itself."

The Los Angeles Times notes Palin "also reversed her stand on the cause of climate change, telling ABC News that she believes 'man's activities certainly can be contributing to the issue of global warming.' Less than a year ago, she said the opposite."

Then those media outlets are either idiots or are distorting her answer. I just watched the whole interview.

And, there is a difference between 'CAN be contributing' and 'is the sole cause of'.
