Marshall faces misdemeanor chargers for an assault per ESPN, the chargers are for throwing his girlfriend and slapping her along with damaging the apartment. Under the leagues personnel conduct policy the league can suspend him further.

If you read into this a lil further, you'll see that this is not a "new" incident.... but rather new charges stemming from an incident that took place 6 months ago.

Not  anew incident, but chargers have jsut been filed so the league can still take action against Marshall

oh but wait people!  So quick to judge.. Contradictions by some here. Remember j Stevens? Just like him, he has not been found guilty. Calling him a world class moron, after defending Stevens, is a bit silly and self-serving

This isn't the 1950's women... some women are bi polar and have anger problems (I broke up with this gal a year ago and she tried to knife me...) may very well have been self defense on Marshall's part.

The league office was aware of this BEFORE handing down the suspension.  Barring any NEW trouble, he should be OK as far as suspensions go.
