This may be the first time I actually agree with anything that Duemig's said but just a few weeks ago Jon Gruden said that as a coaching staff they had discussed starting Gradkowski at the beginning of the season. He also said that he asked for feedback from some of the veteran players to see what they thought about the possible change at QB. So someone please explain how a few weeks later, we sign SImms to a two year deal worth $10M??? Unless this is indeed a sign and trade deal, it makes no freaking sense to me. Gruden is an awful evaluator of talent and someone needs to stop this guy before he burries this team with bad decisions.

But he's a NFL Insider...

An NFL Insider who doesn't understand this signing isn't much of an NFL insider.

Beats the crap out of drafting a rookie in a season that could decide if you have a job next year or not. JMHO of course, but just food for thought.

NFL In.  Its a 5 million dollar contract if Simms doest play and a 10 million dollar contract if he is a probowler.  It makes perfect football and salary cap sense for this team.  We got a steal of a deal for his potential as a starter or him being a backup

I think he has about a 50/50 chance of starting next year at this time and 0 percent chance if we sign a vet in FA.
