NFL Draft Blitz just put up their new mock.

They have us taking:

1.  Gaines Adams (DE) Clemson
2a.  Aaron Ross (CB) Texas
2b.  Drew Stanton (QB) Michigan State
3.  Eric Wright (CB) UNLV

Hmm...didn't Wright hurt his leg?

1st day QB pretty much spells the end for gradkowski - no room for him plus simms and the inevitable veteran pickup.  don't know if the bucs are exactly ready to close the book on the kid yet.

Stanton has the physical tools as a QB to play on the next level but he has a whole lot of other issues to work out.  With that said with the combine he probably sneak into the late 1st round kind of like how Losman did.

thats the worst draft ever.

1- We aren't going to take a QB in the 2ndround.  If we dont get Quinn, Smith, Russell, or Brohm with our first pick, then we are clearly not going to draft a QB, while we have greater rebuilding needs.  Simms, Gradkowski, McCown and hopefully a veteran QB from free agency.

2- We aren't going to draft 2 cornerbacks out of our first 4 picks.  As I believe one would be nice.....Zematias was last years pick while Bucchanon has sort of ressurected his career this year making him quality player at age 26.  Also have Barber and Kelly.

3-Three Defensive players out of the first 4 picks.  I dont know.  Some of us could hope, But I highly doubt that with Gruden at the helm.  Mort like 50 50 offense defesne this year

We're not drafting 2 corners with our 1st 4 picks. Especially with the emergence of P-Buc.
I also doubt we take a 1st dsay QB.

I have seen many mock drafts showing us taking Leon Hall. I really don't have a clue which way we are going but I would argue that CB is a very pressing need with lack of speed and our age. Not the mention B. Kelly's situation. I can't see us going past the 1st pick in the 2nd without picking a CB.

Considering our system doesn't really require excellent cover corners, I think we're picking too high to justify taking Hall.  But I agree, we will see a DB in round 2.

Safety is a bigger need then corner.

Is CB even a need, if they sign Buchanon and Kelly comes back  ???

There is a very high probability that Kelly will be 100% for the first time in about 3 years.  Zemaitis hasn't proved anything, and neither has any 3rd to 6th round pick in the 2007 draft.

30 year old coming off serious surgery...don't count on it. That mock is horrible, we will not take that JP Losman clone in R2.

Theres some pretty good safetys in this draft. I would rather take a safety in rd. 2 and pick something else in rd. 3. Hopefully the QB need is settled long before the draft via a veteran.
