Garcia's a better QB.  We go deep into the playoffs with him. Gresie's turnover will catch up with us.

Gas $4 a gallon, Thank you all who voted for the Socialist.

Unfortunately that's who SoB is. He also games where he is very good. If we can win the games he doesn't play well in, that bodes very well for us.

Streaky might not be the best term but it'll do.

I dont remember many games where he was VERY GOOD in.  Look back to 2005 and you will see that our running game and defense just plays great for this guy.  That alone could be reason to keep him in, but if those 2 aspects dont play good, what happens then?

Dont get me wrong, Jeff doesn't LIGHT IT UP either, but at least he wont lose you the game and there is nothing I can stand worse then going to OT with the Bears when we dominated them or being down 21-20 in the 4th to the Pack when we dominated them.

We should have won these past 2 games easily and would have with Garcia, but luckily we have yet to lose a game due to Griese's errors..
He's actually had some very good games recently - let's say 87 or higher is a good QB Rating for a game -

2007 - WK 5 @ GB - 15 of 25, 214 yds, 2 TDs, 1 int in a 26-20 win, 97.8 QB Rating
2007 - WK 6 Minn - 26 of 45, 388 yds, 3 TDs, 2 int in a 31-34 loss, 89.2 QB Rating
2007 - Wk 7 @ Philly - 27 of 41, 322 yds, 1 TD, 0 ints in a 19-16 win, 97.8 QB Rating
He didn't start in 2006
2005 - Wk 2 Buff - 16 of 22, 136 yds, 0 TD, 0 Ints in a 19-3 victory, 88.4 QB Rating
2005 - Wk 3 @ GB - 17 of 26, 139 yds, 2 Tds, 1 int, in a 17-16 win, 88.5 QB Rating
2005 - Wk 6 Mia - 12 of 16, 120 yds, 1 TD, 0 ints, in a 27-13 win, 116.7 QB Rating
2004 - WK 6 @Stl - 27 of 40, 286 yds, 2 TDs, 1 int in a 21-28 loss, 94.4 QB Rating
2004 - Wk 7Chi - 15 of 23, 163 yds, 1 TD, 0 Ints, in a 19-7 win, 100.5 QB Rating
2004 - Wk 9 KC - 22 of 34, 298 yds, 2 TDs, 0 ints, in a 34-31 win, 111.9 QB Rating
2004 - Wk 10 Atl - 19 of 26, 174 yds, 2 TDs, 1 ints, in a 14-24 loss, 105 QB Rating
2004 - Wk 11 SF - 15 of 21, 210 yds, 2 tds, 2 ints, in a 35-3 win, 95.4 QB Rating
2004 - Wk 12 @Car - 27 of 39, 347 yds, 2 tds, 1 int, in a 14-21 loss, 103.3 QB Rating

Glad to hear Garcia is #2.   McCown is a pretty big drop off in my opinion.   But both Griese and Garcia are solid.

Yea, McCown only had a 100.6 rating in his 3 starts last year.

Looking back at some of last years games there some middle range throws that Garcia made that were absolutely perfect catching the receiver just as he made his break from the DB.  Those throws were great. I guess some just forgot them. Garcia is a warrior and competitor and unfortunately that also can be a weakness if he isn't 100%.

Still the starting position is for Griese to lose at this conjecture.  Another pick or so and Garcia will be back in the starting lineup.

Griese will have to play is way off the field via a loss...but I have to wonder if it wasn't more than simple rust that kept Garcia off the field.  Maybe the ankle was worse than the team wanted to highlight, maybe there was needed rehab for another/non-disclosed injury?  This team is nearly Patriot-esque when it comes to divulging player status.  Who knows?

At least we're 3-1 and playing with more confidence every week.  This is a tough road-game in the thin air...but we should be able to run the ball on these guys.  But clearly they'll load up and force Griese to throw.  Big game for Brian...for the team.

Plain and Simple,  Garcia got his ego hurt, threw a little mini-strike, and completely overplayed his hand.  Whining to the press about his contract was irratating but not a deal breaker.  Skipping the opening week of training camp may have been overlooked except he came right back and was injured with a calf problem.  The real issue then becomes a pre season game and season opener when he plays lousy and we loose.  Some here may have noticed that's our only lose of the year.  The truth is, no one is really sure what we now have with Garcia.  He may well be the Garcia of Detroit and Cleveland.  Even if he is better than that, he will be 40 next year!!! Our QB position seems to be mirroring our Presidential Campaign, which is no real great options.

Another shot to McCown.  Does anyone remember the only game he started last year, where all the starters played, and the division was basically on the line. The game where he completed his first 15 passes, one of the best offensive outputs in Buc history, over 100 passer rating, the longest run from scrimmage last year, oh, a last second TD pass to seal the victory.  He gets kicked to the curb again.

DOC...your oh so right...think if Gruden saw that article he'd make Luke the 2 just so Stroud would be wrong again...just kidding ...like to think the coach would put the best players on the field without personal issues getting in the way.
